Original rep was good but left to move back to his home town. Manager is great. Backorder issues lately but just launched a new product. Not sure how the territory is holding up as it's been vacant. They hired a guy and fired him right away.

This seems like a good division and reps don't leave. How do they stack up against Medtronic and Integra?

Integra is a small player overall but have a few niche/good products but that may not last in this Obamacare enviroment along with negiotiating power of MDT & JNJ. Neurovascular does good but thats an always changing arena and JNJ is always slow to react. Stryker & ev3/Cov/Mdt are market leaders.

How much does a Codman rep make (on average)?

No less than $160K. They are kind of their own business unit. Yes, they fall under DePuy Synthes umbrella but they really operate on their own. They have several products (patties, bi-polars, perforators, catheters) that are used all day, every day. Plus, they have good shunts, some would say they are the best. You never see job openings with them, which tells you they are great jobs because no one leaves!

I'm somewhat baffled by a rep that landed in this position. They are not the sharpest tool in the shed. Mediocre pharm rep who was ousted out of Wyeth on a PIP. They turn around to sell hospital beds a few years...and they landed this gig! WTF?? It couldn't have happened to a more passive aggressive douche.

Its who you know...OR experience and being in with that certain someone...nothing more and nothing less. So yes, there are a few undeserving douches in the bunch. That's how the game goes.
