Will be good asset when finally divesting the problem ridden vents.
Unfortunately, with Engstrom still inside it may get difficult to fool around too long.
Was OK for adults, but put many neos at risk over the years.
BTW what happened to the Versamed?

We just started using the Carestream R860 (for the record it was forced on us, we NEVER even trialed it) and have had a LOT of problems...... for others who have used this vent, how are you finding it? Are there specific problems you are having?

Yes, we are apparently the first hospital in Canada to use it (that's what GE told us, I have no verificiation). We have issues with the triggering sensitivity/capability of the ventilator and patient synchrony. Both double-triggering, or not delivering a breath when the patient is clearly trying to take one. We have made changes to every setting possible and are still having these issues on multiple patients - ones that we had NO problems at all ventilating on a PB840. We also seem to have a lot of trouble with the expiratory flow sensor/valve. As a side note, the water trap is a pain; it has to be emptied like 3-4 times/day. We are not happy with a few other things, but that's the main problem we are having.

This is the known legacy problems of Engstrom the predecessor. Could only sell by dumping price really low or smart GE bundling/fincancing solutions. The exp valve becomes a severe safety issue if you put the vent on neonates, as it over time gets sticky and unpredictable. Hope you
somehow can get better new vents soon.
