Pfizer's recent announcement of layoffs was caused by Pascals maneuvering them Into a corner. There are now two options on the table. #1 AZ stays an independent company looking more and more likely.
#2 AZ and Pfizer merge; with Pascal being the new CEO, and keeping nearly all AZ reps especially in Respiratory where AZ has the relationships.

Either way we are in pretty good shape.

AZ insider...my ass! You don't know shit. The only people that do sit on the board and they don't come posting on cafepharma douchebag. Another thing...if you look at Pfizer's past buyouts they don't give a rat's ass about relationships. They keep their own and get rid of everyone else. Talk to some Upjohn, King and Parke Davis former reps. The reason for this...Pfizer feels their culture is better than anyone else in pharma in regard to real salesmanship. To you, you are trash to be thrown to the curb. Stop posting your nonsense making believe you have real inside info. You don't.

Typical troll response, this is very different, Parke-Davis was copromoting Lipitor with Pfizer, Searle-Upjohn was copromoting Celebrex with Pfizer, Wyeth was copromoting Abilify and SSRI's with Pfizer, you my friend have no clue how inside I am, but you are demonstrating how clueless you are.

Clueless? Abilify is a BMS drug. Who is the troll? Someone who comes on here and makes believe they have insider knowledge. Yeah right. My friend if you indeed did have insider info posting it on here could land you in serious trouble with the SEC. You're not an insider. You're probably someone just trying to stir the shit. Leave us alone douchebag.

That is an enormous leap of faith. Pfizer has always taken over and absorbed other companies into the Pfizer culture and name. IMO Pfizer maneuvered itself into a corner, but Pfizer is still dangerous with cash reserves of many billions. A leaner Pfizer has more cash liquidity.

Some think Pfizer will be AZ's savior, but take a look at the history, Pfizer chops up, spits out, and uses what it can until it feeds on its next host. An AZ takeover isn't going to solve anything at Pfizer, it's reliant on its prey. Sure, it may cruise along for awhile, but it will soon be time to feed again.

What? AZ's Savior? Pfizer needs AZ: AZ wants nothing to do with Pfizer. What is Pfizer gonna have to sell in 18 months after Celebrex and Viagra are both generic? Chantix, Eliquis, come on give me a break.

I want nothing to do with the stock of this merged, takenover, whatever, new company. Nexium, Celebrex, Crestor, Viagra, all go generic in the next two years that is nearly 30Billion in lost revenue, I would love to hear someone tell me how the new company is gonna replace that revenue, let alone grow !!!

Nooooo your points are not valid. You are not an insider. You are just some asswipe posting stuff on here like you know what's going on. There are only a few people in this world that really know what is going to happen and my friend, they don't post on cafepharma. If you want to speculate what will happen that's fine. Preface your comments that they are speculation. However to come on this website as some "insider" you're not fooling anyone.

My Brother works for Pfizer, moral is way down on news of these layoffs, they see the handwriting on the wall, that more than likely the deal is dead, and even if it happens it will be run by Pascal.

You could say the same thing about AZ who will lose Symbicort, XR AND Crestor all by 2017. XR and Crestor by 2016! If you think the constipation drug will save us you are nuts!

Pfizer Drops Plan to Acquire AstraZeneca
Pfizer confirmed in an interview that it has dropped the idea of acquiring AstraZeneca, and is now eyeing other viable acquisition candidates, like Actavis.
