A friend of mine got "the" call today. He's pretty excited about it. He said official announcement is Monday.

Right except for billions of dollars will fly out the door. What is happening is billions of dollars are flying in the door. That will stop. It is not the salesforce's problem either. It is the rest of the company -- the management. Management will fly out the door when it gets to the point that the company will be insolvent and unable to pay their golden parachutes.

Calling on a pcp office for a side specialty drug is not specialty sales. It's just bad marketing. Specialty reps call on specialists for drugs that require more than an r x to get the drug to the pt. special knowledge of logistics and managed care networks is needed. It's more of an account mNGer type role, but any decent primary care rep can get into specialty .

Yup. it is BS that people got picked w/o an interview. I know a few selected and raises were substantial. Great way to build morale AZ. Was this Deanie's idea or higher? Whoever is responsible, F U.

From what I've seen in my area, those who were selected for the position are respected hard working reps and probably would have got the job with the interview anyway. the interview process would have delayed the chosen ones from inevitably getting the job and dragging out the speculation/anxiety for everyone else. This method cut out the bs and saved time for everyone involved. and yes, i did just say hard working reps. I was not picked for the position.

A friend of mine was "picked" for the job. They got a $10,000 raise, which is WAY above AZ's normal salary increase for such things. I was amazed to hear the salary increase was that high.

$7300 max. Obviously they lied or you did.

Nope, you are wrong. I was offered and accepted, a $10,000 annual raise. I could care less if you believe it or not. What is probably more accurate, is that YOU were only offered $7,300.

No, you would be wrong. Never met Dean and was not selected. Just not afraid to face the facts, unlike you apparently.

Reps who were selected that already had an existing high base salary got very little raise if any. They do get a higher bonus potential.

They picked who they "liked". The person they picked for our area doesn't even know who the Pulmonary Docs are. They never called on them which was one of the criteria listed in the job description email sent out by the respiratory team. Proving to everyone they don't even know who they are promoting. What a joke there are reps in that territory that have solid relationships with those customers with proven success. No respect for the way these positions were chosen. Wake up AZ, you will for sure lose good reps over this one. Way to go!

Would one of those reps with solid relationships with the Pulms, be you by chance?

And what if it was? That is exactly the point!

It was respiratory experience, not necessarily pulmonology experience. Anyone who sold Symbicort in a geography was in consideration. This was a placement process, with clearly communicated criteria.

glad this thread went the way of useless whining. The original poster was obviously looking for free information about product placement, patent expiration and all that other competitive crap in the respiritory market. troll onward op. we have enough crap to deal with here.
