Good one troll. KAPVAY is the worst performing ADHD product EVER launched!! The numbers that you don't have access to prove it, so don't try to deny it. KAPVAY doesn't even compare to Strattera, let alone Intuniv or any other non-stimulant. A BID treatment is a huge step backwards. Also, docs are starting to realize that this stuff is just repackaged JENLOGA. KAPVAY became useless before it even launched. Do Shionogi managers really think that docs won't figure out what Nexiclon XR is?

    http://www.nexiclonxr.com

"Say goodbye to twice-daily clonidine (JENLOGA aka KAPVAY) and hello to once-daily NEXICLON XR, the first and only once-daily formulation of clonidine."

"Unlike other clonidine products, NEXICLON XR is available in two unique extended-release formulations: a liquid containing 0.09 mg/mL clonidine base, and scored tablets containing 0.17 mg clonidine base."

Intuniv is the LEAST of your worries!!! Jump ship before the stock holders and analysts figure things out!!

I am struck by the maturity (absence) level of these posts. Misnaming the drug being discussed with a sexual orientation slur reveals the true character of the "poster". Then, not to be outdone, a respondent appears. Not to be outdone, this one takes the slur the other had applied to the medicine and addresses the other using the slur. This was quickly followed up with some witty banter (multiple ha-ha's) - - then a readdressing of the first writer using another derogatory name - - an insult to all of those people who are unfortunately so challenged. That exchange had to be between a pair of prepubescents. The level of expression revealed no one even close to adulthood. The comments look like they would have appeared in some chat room for teenie boppers.

Now to the topic - - It appears that the Kapvay supplier is really playing sleazy with their production of medication. Pharmacists report that the 0.2 mg pills are not being made available, other than in the blister packs intended for "start-up." Since the recommended full dosage is 0.2 mg twice daily, this means that - - absent the 0.2 mg tablets, one has to purchase 120 0.1 mg tablets for a month's supply - - twice as many pills at approximately twice the cost. In other words they are not selling the pill strength that satisfies their recommended dosage. This is pure abuse of the customer base. There is an easy solution to this abuse, and I intend to exercise it - - i.e. look for a med choice supplied by a company a bit less ethically challenged than this supplier.

Why would Shire purchase a drug that is going generic in August 2013 with a generic on the market by Sept 2014??? Kapvay reps already informing physicians they are out of a job by June and no longer sampling either.....

Reps are not getting let go. They are selling something else. So don't start rumors that aren't true

Why don't you look at the original date of the first time that this happened-2011 -It is a mistake- it will be corrected- again- The SKY is not falling. What interest would Shire have in Kapvay? Use your Brain. If you don't take any post on here with a grain of salt, maybe you should be a manager at supernus. Just sell-or/MBO or do whatever it is that we are supposed to do this quarter.

Why would they go through the trouble of getting Kapvay approved for ADHD in 2011 if it's going off patent in 2013? Was there supposed to be a patent extension that we don't know about?

I am a consultant trying to understand what happened with Kapvay. If you worked on the launch, please reach out to me - 1-212-551-6079. We can compensate akin to a consulting rate, but you would have to prove that you worked on the launch.
