Thank You, Sir. May I Have Another?

OK, I get it. The first quarter sales were awful. So it's our fault? The new lipid guidelines all but render Zetia worthless (rightfully so, might I add). Liptruzet is dead. Juvisync is beyond dead. (Dumb ideas both.) Januvia is tanking because doctors generally hate Merck (can you blame them?) and the competition is growing constantly.

So you want us to check our sales numbers and seek out those docs who have fallen off the wagon? Well, that would necessitate our actually having those numbers, right? Or is that our fault, to?

Screw this worthless, train wreck in the making. Give me a severance.

Oh by the way, just to add insult to injury, Merck was down on its knees (along with much of big pharma ) sucking off Obama in hopes of cashing in on the train wreck known as Obamacare. Isn't it nice when a company (or industry for that matter) stands on principle and uses their influence to point out when things are just plain wrong. For Gods sake Neville Chamberlain looks like Mr. backbone compared to the spineless jack-offs at Merck as they rolled over to the incompetent, socialist, bureaucratic pricks in Washington. Good going Merck, I'm sure its all working out just the way you hoped it would!

Hey, how 'bout that Dulera?!!! It's really selling like hotcakes. Of course, we have to give it away, but it sure gives our fearless leaders something to talk about. Mindless fools. If they're going to try to paint that P.O.S. as a success story, they're REALLY trying to manufacture false success. Anything to soften the news on Januvia I guess.

Liptruzet, Juvisync and Dulera are what you get when MBA pencil pushers are making product and research decisions. Expect more of the same. No wait, the guys we have now are different and really know their stuff.

They might know their stuff, but I'm not sure what their stuff is. It surely isn't developing and selling meaningful therapies.

I wonder how bad it's actually going. We've had these "the sky is falling" teleconferences before, only to see no impact on the quarterly earnings. Makes you wonder if they're cooking the books a bit.

Did you see how many shares the execs were unloading in February? They know the gig almost up. The Wall Streeters are the next to find out, then the stock will tank. The individual investors will be left holding the bag when it's all over. That's typical.

I exercised every option I could. Only a fool wouldn't have. Any fools out there?

You'll look like the fool when PD1 becomes number one selling drug and stock skyrockets

That's what I don't get. If PD 1 is a very big deal as they say, why would so many Merck execs sell sooooo many options?

Do you really believe that? And I guess that the promises of no lay-offs five years ago were real, too? That was what? 40,000 layoffs ago? What an idiot.

There's no need for name calling. You must be one of the old reps right? I started with Merck right out of college so how would I know there were layoffs 5 years ago?

We've had wave after wave after wave of layoffs in every functional area and in every geography over the last 8 years non-stop. We haven't hired anyone "right out of college" or out of anywhere else in the last five years. We've cut our employee base by HALF since then. I don't know who you are, but you're not a Merck person.

Didn't they do even a little market research before they pushed the production button? Sounds like more than a few simple steps were left out of the equation. Hey, I'm a lowly rep and I know this stuff. My estimate...it was a massive financial folly! Waste, waste and more waste. Create stuff without the necessary planning and its loss, big time.

Think I'll apply for the next big shot job I see posted. Sure I can stem the tide and turn this baby around.

That's exactly what I thought about 17 years ago....screw this worthless train wreck in the making so I did. I can't believe what Merck must be like today when I thought it was nothing shy of horrible then.

17 years ago Merck was flying high! Today, it's the worst corporate climate in America. Your choice to go elsewhere was a wise one.
