Look son, I don't need to get in a pissing contest with you. Simply put losers like yourself are stuck at ADC. Too dumb to see the obvious that most saw several years ago and got out while the getting was still good. Your posting about a job search was very amusing and I could not pass up the awesome laughs. I appreciate your concerns about me but I'm doing quite well and have been since I left ADC as a RAM back in 2007. As for you good luck on your high tech job search. You're only about 5 years too late. Saddle up son!!!

You are either senile, drunk, or both (I suspect the latter). What's with the cowboy jargon? Watching a John Wayne marathon on TV? Pathetic...

This fantasy about having left 7 years ago, but you're still a regular here, takes you from being pathetic to sad. Maybe delusional. We all have 100% proof you are still at ADC: you're posting here.

Move along folks, this dude is just a shattered shell of a meter maid wallowing in a bottle of gin

Left 7 years ago? Still coming here?? You're making us laugh so hard we might wet our pants or snort beer our our noses!

An "RSS" no less? That's less than a meter maid. At least we can PRETEND to be pharma reps, and maybe get one of those jobs.

What can you do with RSS "experience"? A retail merchandiser job for a broker? Or if you hit the big leagues, for a manufacturer. "Big leagues" defined as a company car (like a Ford Focus).

You are one sad, bitter, delusional dude!

Ladies, stop your drama fights. Bottom line is meter repping is a thing of the past. Many have gotten out and have landed in much better places. Pump positions, specialty Pharma, some even in device positions. It's not easy to do and you do have to be prepared to nail the question to overcome the stereo type of meter sales in your interviews.

Oh Wise former Retail Sales Rep, please advise us!!! Thou who put up card tables in the back corner of the local CVS, and tried so valiantly to hand out free meters to EBT card holders and the those rascally elderly people! Who so masterfully placed $20 dollar instant coupons upon our hallow meters on the shelves of your local Walgreens! Or engineered grand deals with grocery pharmacist whereby you plied them with free pizza and free meters that you brought in from your car, in exchange for them allowing you to set up an end cap display of those meters, free to consumers! Oh how artful those photos you took were, from different angles, so it looked like more than one store where you has such success!

Yes, please tell is how you parlayed all of those wonders into your amazing new position! Oh woe is us, for we have no such skills to even come close to matching yours!

I am an ex-ADC Retail Sales Specialist, laid off last year, and currently making $50k as a retail merchandiser for a broker. I took my current job because I needed an income, and it was a foot in the door which I had hoped I could start at the bottom and move into an account sales representative position. I have applied for many sales jobs, within my broker and externally, but have been told I have no sales experience. I am also looking for some serious advice.

Yes I got laid off last year and I totally got blind sided and did not see ADC layoffs coming. It was a sHocker!! People were trying to say poor mgmt and commodity bizz but I said no way. I am unemployed but working very hard on my job search for past year. ADC treated me right with a nice severance which I was holding out for anyway. I just know having ADC Device exp on my résumé will land me the big job here soon. I am very satisfied right now with my situation.

Just to be clear on one point in your story: you were "totally blind sided and did not see this coming", and were shocked. Yet you were holding out for a severance package?

This also begs a question too: you've been "unemployed ... for the past year.", but you are "very satisfied" with your situation? Even if you maxed out on severance, you have burned through that, plus your UI, and have been living off whatever savings you have for at least 3 - 4 months. That would make me "very satisfied."

Oh, and you forgot the "and" between "ADC" and "device exp". Where did you get your device experience, BTW?

Do you mean you were a RSS? That's about what they were paid. PMR's make double that.
