We're the idiots? We chose to sign on with a great company that pays top 10% in the industry, gives every single employee a lucrative stock package and a protection agreement securing a years salary and bonus if we get bought and we're idiots? Seems like we might be smarter than the douche tards who chose to join what is apparently the shithole of Pharma that is Valeant. None of us will be forced to stay for financial reasons. If the culture is as you describe, we will collect our packages, cash in our stock and move on to greener pastures. All the while laughing at the idiots who got stuck at Valeant.

 

My friend works for Salix and I interviewed but was passed on awhile ago. From the things I know about Salix, it's a much much better company than Valeant. Salix reps are more tenured in the industry and yes they are GIVEN stock once they sign on. At Valeant you have to wait over a year just to be eligible and it's not given, it's purchased, which is a big difference! That right there shows you Salix treats employees like family and invests in their employees like a real company. But Valeant?? No way. Valeant is all about numbers. U ain't gettin any marketing materials, no samples, no direction, nothing. Just a car to go sell your products!

 

Don't listen to any of the above. Clearly not a Valeant employee.

Yes, you get stock in 2 ways from the company. The first is an ESPP whereby the stock you buy from payroll deductions is matched at 50% (effectively you have the ability to buy VRX at a 25% discount)

The second is an annual grant, awarded with your performance appraisal. Grants in the form of RSUS are made every year and vest after 3 years. The units also get a 50% multiplier if the stock grows at an annualized 15% (the same metric applied to Mike Pearson's)

 

Obviously a management troll, yes Valeant even does that too. Pathetic ! you get jackshit here and your life will be hell. Proving this is easy..... Look at the threads & decide for yourself

Typical Valeant management. Most people at Valeant haven't worked elsewhere nor have experience with other better companies, so they have no clue how other companies operate. Salix by far has better stock options and are paid very well. Base salaries alone at or near 6figures with great bonus potential. Valeant pays you peanuts in base and consumes your life for the bonus. If you have a family, you'll hate it here.

 

Go play in the middle of some busy road troll & do us all a BIG favour!!

 

My base is over 100k and we make about 30k a year in bonus. My manager just told us that we should expect no change in pay or bonus structure. Maybe things are going to change at Valeant for the better.

From reading this board it seems that your company could use some solid management- you will be getting that with Salix!
