Honest answers, please. If you were called to interview for a face-to-face and were 40 and not working would you even bother to go through the hassle of the interview? Sure there is a slim chance, but are n't most jobs "actually" filled before they are even posted?
1.I wouldn't go on a big pharma interview over 40 unless I knew the manager. 2. Most jobs are not filled before the interview process. 3. If you are over 40, you need to find better opportunities than big pharma, usually in biotech and specialty, or contract. Leave big pharma to the kids that can't sell.
Leagally nobody can ask you your age in an interview. It shouldn't matter . If you are prevented from interviewing or passed over because of age you have a law suit
You're going to be asking for a good salary. Pfizer can hire twenty-something's for peanuts instead of paying a real salary to a mature and experienced applicant. Your odds of getting an offer are slim........
Pfizer is the type of company you want to get in before age 30, spend 5 years, and then parlay that into something better. It used to be a great company pre mid 2000s. Now, it is terrible. Decent products, but average reps, average management, and they don't pay well.
Above is true. Go in with a realistic expectation. If youre a dynamic & go getter, you may want to tone it down. The "best" reps are the ones smart enough to do what theyre told & read the right POA slides.
Unless you give good head. Then you could be 60 and these loser managers would hire you. The aren't getting it anywhere else.
Perfect description of the best reps. Sad commentary on what we've become. Pfizer leads the way in dumbing down the rep job. Other than the great money for a part time job, it sucks.
