Ignorant corporate marketing goons thinking they actually effect sales, rookie engineers designing instruments and implants to satisfy corporate budgets, paid consultants signing off on sub-par options to accommodate the marketing goons and engineers. Reluctancy to admit or improve on an initial sub-par launch of a primary only knee system. AKA Attune

It seems the focus of the traditional industry standards has shifted. It is a different world in orthopedics. Patient care is secondary to investor relations. Bad timing on coming out with a new knee system. Good luck having the options to compete with more recent contemporary knee systems any time soon.

I'm sick of big volume guys with fellows, residents, and six figure checks making decisions on what's best for the Orthopaedics community. 80% of the business is community docs yet they are allowed 0% of the input on designs.

So you are sick of industry not paying non-academic surgeons for their input? You do realize that all of the community surgeons were residents at one point, right? Do you also realize that 95% of surgeons enter practice using what they were trained on?

But you are probably right. Makes a ton of sense to pay a guy/gal at some community hospital, in the middle of nowhere, with zero exposure to the future of orthopaedics, just so his/her "ideas" can be heard.

Well said and completely agree. Many of the design elements coming out of theses larger institutions are real head-scratchers. IMHO the best knee EVER designed for a simple knee replacement in a community setting is....drum roll....the Natural Knee.

The Natural Knee can't be that great because Zimmer is discontinuing it!
