Feel better now, pumpkin? Here's the simple answer to your "oh so complex" questions: calm down, stop over analyzing. IT'S 11%!! Period! Does it stink for the 11%? Yes. Will anyone -even someone with your "superior" intelligence and analytical ability- be able to figure it out? Absolutely not. So calm your little tush down.

Okay genius X-DSR who thinks this cannot be broken down with "overly simple math", follow me here. Read slowly so you can comprehend:

    1. Cuts will be 11%
    2. There are approximately 1,400 reps between C1 and C3
    3. C3 will go from approximately 245 reps down to 100 reps, thus a loss of around 145 heads.
    4. The 100 C3 reps will be in larger metropolitan areas and not rural areas

Now here's the "overly simple math" that may get complicated for someone with SO MUCH intelligence:
145 heads out of the 1400 heads equals 10.4% (someone as smart as you should know that this is VERY close to the 11% number that was given).

Does the "overly simple math" help to explain that the cuts will be deeper in rural areas than in more urban areas? Was one of my "overly simple" statements that urban areas would most likely see less job loss?

I know, an "X-DSR" possesses SO much more intelligence than a lowly PHR so I'm sorry this is so elementary for someone of your caliber.

---and to answer your BIG questions:
    1. This is known only by HR right now
    2. I've answered this---twice now
    3. See answer #1
    4. Performance first, then customer relationships/product knowledge, then geography. Did we not listen to the call?
    5. Displaced DSRs will NOT bump PHRs. They will be ranked in the PHR pool just with the criteria listed in #4. Again, did we not listen to the call?
    6. C3 reps will not bump C1. They will be ranked in the same pool based on the criteria listed in #4. Once again, did we not listen to the call?

Happy now? Your BIG questions have been answered not only on the call, but again here. Something tells me that your lack of listening skills are an issue.

A large number of the C3 DSRs will be slotted into the the C1 URO PHR jobs. This way the company can freeze those salaries (demotions=above PHR pay window, no more merit increases) while essentially keeping them in the same role (selling the URO bag to UROs). It's a pretty devious way to cut cost - allowing people to get demoted to stay employed - but what did anyone expect? This is a company run by people who possess neither vision or decency, so screwing people over for short-term gain is just another strategy endorsed by sr mgt & ZS Assoc.

I just wish I'd have gotten laid off 8 years ago when the severance was more generous, jobs were more plentiful, and I was 9 years younger (and not just a whisker away from being retirement eligible as I am today).

I effed up. You youngsters take note and get out at the first opportunity that presents itself. The people who run this place are pure evil... And foreigners to boot... I wish my grandpa & his generation had let the Germans & the Japs win...

9 years ago, not 8... I think you got the general idea...

If a DBM and RM want to get rid of a particular rep, can they influence the outcome during this process?

Hahahahahaha! All the logic in the world won't explain what will really happen. Per frank means very little. Ass kissing means nothing. Bumping won't happen, and a few displaced will be offered jobs in north and South Dakota, and when it's all over those still standing will be scratching their heads wondering what the hell happened and who in the hell made these decisions. When Pfizer speaks beware..... Believe nothing until it happens... And never, never believe a word from your manager.... Only tells us what he is told to tell us. Aka spin and lies. Buckle up.... We're in for a ride.

Sometimes but not always. They can screw you during calibration and give you a lesser rating. Partially met = gone next downsizing(usually).

Someone explain how Cluster 1 managers only have 7 or 8 reps to manage? And since there are 2 Cluster 1 PHRs calling on the same primary care doctors and now Cluster 1 DSRs are calling on the same primary care doctors the manager will see the primary care doctors more often than the rep. We paid a lot of money to a consulting firm to come up with this.

It's been that way since I got here. DM rides with us every 2 weeks. But now our District is much larger, 13 reps.

Only an idiot DSR kept those shitty primary care docs.

Yes, all reps sell lyrica now. The overlap is incredible. The DM might actually have to help us sell now to justify their repetitive visits. LOL.

They wanted multiple coverage, so if a rep gets promoted, quits or fired, there's someone still covering a doc.

It also bodes well for a massive downsizing and very little hiccups for the doctors to notice.

That is what the consultants got paid for. Shit, I could've told these idgets in NYC that for free!

So true. Consultants got paid big bucks for bad advice.

true, there's the consultant that get paid by Pfizer to analyze and ruin internally. Above post is a good reminder that competitors pay "consultants" to monitor every other market entry. They need to get a snap shot of the company and plans, so they can "analyze" the market. Makes total sense that we should make an effort to not neatly hand over everything they coyly ask for. Hell, seems that when out industry cut back on spending large sums for swag like pens and paper and programs for reps to provide for staff...they used that money to hire these unqualified geeks to do CI. Money they could have spent on pipeline or field sales. Garbage move.

hmmm, how to write this so it does not get monitored and edited out.
This cut and paste from post seven, this thread is not a bunch of questions written casually for conversation on CP. Some person thought good and hard about these questions, and seems to have a motive larger than just curiosity. Read it as if this group of questions was presented as part of a monthly meeting, live, or via a teleconference, presented by one party where they assigned the other party the task of answering these questions and reporting back next month... read it that way, because it's true.

    from post 7:
    Big questions are:
1 # of DSR's/where will they be allocated in the future
2 Where will Pfizer decide to keep the most Reps; rural, metro, open access states, closed access states, etc.
3 How many Reps per DM
4 Which criteria listed will be weighed the most geo, perf. current product mix
    5 will displaced DSR's bump PHR's
6 Will C3 Reps bump C1 Reps for the uro focus bag

^ definitely, posts 1, 3 and 4 are outsiders, more specifically they're paid for trolls, trying to pull down free information for their fancy deck to send of to their competitor client. Parasitic greedy manipulative bastards. Feel free to hug it out with them.
