Being recently retired and in my 50's I sometimes get asked "are you bored". Reading this post pretty much says it all and answers the question. As long as you have good health and can afford it-life is good. After 30+ years of having other people tell you what to do and where to go, it's nice to make your own decisions. This job used to be so great. Back in the day you used to actually feel like you made a difference/earned your salary....now, it has turned into a clusterfu*k of a job. I miss "some" of my work colleagues, I sure as hell don't miss Pfizer or what healthcare has become.

O.P. I posted to illustrate that you can focus on the positives during life's transitions. Interesting how quickly the venom comes out. Sad to see frustration and jealousy, although I did expect it from some. Thanks to all who took this in good spirit. I hope you all have long careers and finish wherever it is you strive to be.
