Reasons Sabrina Should Be Walked Out

    It's FINALLY happened ! Don't know if R&D will recover from his years of mismanagement, abuse, and general sh**head demeanor....but at the very least those who haven't already left will get a chance to see if they can resurrect their self-esteem, creativeness, and careers from the smoking ruins of Sabrina's scorched earth motivational style. I hear JG wants an MD in that role....I guess that's a good thing (other than demotivating all his phd chemists who thought they would get a shot at it), because there is a LOT of healing to be done in R&D.

    They should put Mike Brubaker in role. MD's are great and all, but they aren't trained to discover and develop medicine. They are just trained how to prescribe it. Mike is one of rare few left who people in RD respect as a person and scientist AND he knows how to make stuff happen when it needs too!!!!!

    JG - Bruno great move pushing him aside, good move, just as rude as Sabrina and could not deliver on time or on budget to save his life, validated excuse machine.

    Next get rid of additional barriers to 2015-like thinking and development and ability to move fast:
    Peter R. ("nobody can talk to FDA" "why would you ever do that?")
    Art C. (hated everywhere he has been - FDA relationships at all time low)
    Paul N. (3rd grade strategist / excuse machine)

    "The Three Stooges" .... talk about a group with excuses for failing to deliver these are your all-stars!

    JG you read this and so do your people, get busy or you have no future. The Three Stooges should go in big June layoff.

    Put RR in charge so everyone else will quit! Talk about Toxic!

    What a joke no talent left, only synchophants who stood by and watched Rome burn.

    Not one senior R&D person stood up when repeatedly needed to. No cajones left in R&D, like the Germans who stood by and didn't lift a finger against the Nazi's.

    Hope the new person completely cleans house. JC gets the last laugh.

    There have been people who tried to stand up to the dysfunction, they were just punished so frequently for it that most of them left.

    Give it to Brubaker or bring back Bob Kim??

    Got to agree with previous poster, give it to RR and watch the toxic waste cloud kill off the rest of R&D

    Brubaker is chronic butt kisser who went along, how many good people did he save....been out for himself for years. Not a leader of an organization.

    Agree with the changes in R&D , with the exception of promoting GY in Vision Care. He is a freaking disaster: rude, arrogant, dishonest, and he can't manage people. He is universally disliked.

    All the good Alcon people are gone. You put ketchup guy in charge of pharma and he brings gap guy to head ophthalmology. Now it's up to Google or SpaceX to resuscitate Alcon by 2017, when JG will move onto next gig - CEO position somewhere his daddy is readying for him :) People of the World can go blind while few a*holes are destroying ophthalmic industry for personal gains. At least one is out.

    JG Your legacy will not be a positive headline unless you do more purging and do it fast. Leadership is a continuum, not a book or word or class and your VPs have categorically failed you. Any current VP in our organization should be held accountable and swiftly terminated If they contributed to the following:

    1. You Failed To Unleash Their Passions:

    2. You Failed To Challenge Their Intellect:

    3. You Failed To Engage Their Creativity:

    4. You Failed To Develop Their Skills:

    5. You Failed To Give Them A Voice:

    6. You Failed To Care:

    7. You Failed to Lead and drove known talent out the door:

    8. You Failed To Recognize Their Contributions:

    9. You Failed To Increase Their Responsibility:

    10. You Failed To Keep Your Commitments:

    These are the reasons that those that left will never come back, those that have the right experience are leaving, why you have a discrimination lawsuit, and why you have an empty pipeline. Why do we all hear everyone that left is happier? We used to be "Alcon The Place To Be" NOT the place to be from!

    Those that drove the Alcon secret sauce out the door and failed to do it better now need to be swiftly shown the door!

    JG apparently doesn't have the horsepower to get rid of Peter R. and his cronies Gilles, Art, and Paul. As*hats! Otherwise why are they still here?

    Yep industry players are watching Boy Wonder, he has had plenty of time to assess he owns it now and can't weasel his way out of it by shopping. Time for swift change!

    Agree. Apoptosis is a kind way to put it, it began years ago when they started running off anyone who dared disagree with them and spent huge money reorganizing to a structure the business and pipeline could not afford. All four of these salaries should be aborted!
