Urology District Manager

    Interviewing for a position and was wondering if the bonus range is around just 10000.00 a year? Seems kind of low. I was told a salary of around 60-65000.00 a year. is this negotiable.

    Actually, $10,000/year is high. You are likely to make less at Cook. The salary is about right. Nothing is ever negotiable with Cook. Even the concept of discounting the price of products is a foreign concept.

    The manager is George Hay and he has his favorites. A good company to get your feet wet. Terrible pay and you wont make high commissions. Manager is so so not great. Be careful..

    God, the pay at Cook must really be bad... I hear this from people in several different divisions. Why would anyone want to work here for that pay?

    I'm not certain about urology but I work for another division and have made six figures the past four years. It's not $300,000 a year but it keeps the lights on at my house and lets me put a couple dollars in savings per month. I'm not sure any device reps are making what they did 3 to 8 years ago but that's the world we live in. Just guessing here, but if one looked at every post in the entire Medical Equipment/Device Sales Board here, I'd assume that 80% of those posts would be negative about a company, someone or something. I'm happy with my current situation at Cook but like all good sales representatives, I'm always open to new and challenging opportunities.

    Terrible interview...ridiculous questions like, "who from history would you bring to dinner? And why?" Division is run by an awkward Canadian hockey player.

    This question is to see if you can actually name an historical figure or are a dope, like Sarah Palin. If you cannot name anyone, you get the job. Education is looked down upon at Cook.

    Entire division has turned over since BQ took over. They try to hold people accountable for sales numbers yet pay no commissions. Lets work for nothing and grow 20% every year for the good of the company. What a joke.

    Hahaha...really is a joke. Glad we pay capital equipment specialists to sell nothing and walk around like they are managers. Too bad they won't have jobs in a year.

    Well at least the national rep of the year wins a trip...oh that's right, it's really a bs way to send them to work at a meeting and call it a reward. Company is so cheap it's ridiculous.

    Aside from some low pay when I worked there many moons ago, I thought Cook treated us great and they seemed far from cheap. Looks like they succumbed to the rest of the medical industry. It is funny to hear you have capital specialists though. I can't believe they actually created that position.

    GH is not a good manager. BQ is beyond an ineffective leader. He's awful (DO IT DO IT) that was his motto last year at the NSM. Really??? GH likes women only and he has his favorite on his team and a few guys he likes. The division is a complete disaster.

    If you're interviewing for N Cali (move on). Rebecca is a micro manager and has had the highest turnover rate. They had the clinical guy from the mid west ride with a few of her reps so he could weed them out.

    GO elsewhere if you can.
