I currently work out West in Oncology, but I am looking to relocate back to New England for family reasons. I noticed that there was posting for Clinical Science Associate I, Rare Diseases for northern New England (ME, NH). This move would be purely geographical/lifestyle, not necessarily about the company/position itself. Having said that, I am not willing to move for just any old position, hence the questions below:

    1. How small (or large) is the market for Rare diseases (4 Lysosomal Storage Disorders - Gaucher, Fabry, Pompe and MPS1)

    2. What is the access like (specifically in ME/NH), and who are your primary targets? Specialists? PC? All of the above?

    3. What is the culture like (since the Sanofi merger)? I come from a small division within Big Pharma, so I imagine it could be similar...

    4. What is the salary like? base? target bonus? I have over 5 years pharma exp and over 8 years total sales exp. I have been a top performer every year.

    5. Traditional company car, or car reimbursement/allowance? If allowance, what are the parameters?

    Thanks!

Everyone is resigning from the LSD division right now....for good reasons. Marketing support is poor and misguided half the time, resources available to sales are misaligned with business objectives, there is a clear shift away from being patient sensitive and centric in the policies and practices, Genzyme Center bad-mouths the sales function constantly, you will never be considered for career development opportunities anywhere in the company if you are applying from this sales force, they want to hire 'A' players and pay / treat them like 'C' players.... let us know if you need to hear more. I'm sure someone can chime in and fill in the gaps.

For a job selling infusible products, the pay band for a CSA I is simply not competitive. You will earn more with most other companies out there, large or small. They do not care if you are a top performer, you would be paid the same. As far as the car, the options are Sanofi standard, and you can bank on paying almost as much every month for 'your share' of the car as you would pay to lease the same vehicle yourself.

Regarding your call points, they will play 'red light, green light' with you to let you know. That was the highlight of our month!

25% turnover 2013 YTD in sales tells you all you need to know. If you're employed, stay where you are.

Hey guys, looking at this opportunity. Got let go from my pharma gig - DUI. Was wondering about background check. Also have a lewd conduct charge but it's a misdemeanor. How many years do they go back? I have a fake ID and passport, was wondering if that would work. Any help would be great, thanks!

Is this division any different than over a year ago? Any info on this job and the Clinical Field Specialist?

I think you missed the boat on hiring. Everyone has recently been interviewed and some have heard their fate, and others are still waiting. You're about a month too late.

I know some people have heard either way and some haven't. Most of the contract people didn't get in. I don't really know about specific regions though.

They are still interviewing for the CFS positions. Go to the Genzyme website and apply. Hurry though. They want all on board by Mid August.

Complete cluster f*ck. Recruiter is clueless, no communication. Wasted my time. This place appears to be a train wreck.

Holy smokes. I met this Linda Riezinger from RBU out of Boca Raton. What a piece of work! Can you say quintessential PAJ (acronym spelled backwards). Kind of entitled just a bit...

I keep seeing CSA postings popping up. Looks like a lot of people are leaving. Anyone else have insight into salary? It seems it's very vague.

I do know of IC comp plans ranging from 30k-70k
