You're partially right. 13 years ago we were THE place to be. You may remember the days when we were buying up large companies left and right, firing their leadership, and promoting our jetsam up the chain. (Anyone here remember who our General Business Unit Managers were in 2004? How many of them still work here?)

The problem (for the entire industry, it seems) was exacerbated when we stopped "R&D'ing" for drugs with $500-800 million potential, and only focused on finding new Lipitor-strength products.

Weak pipeline + piss-poor upper management gets us the Pfizer of 2014. But the Pfizer of 2017 will have a much, MUCH smaller headcount in the field.

While these self-entitled whiners are bitching about sharing rooms, they don't seem to understand that there's a good chance that about a third of them (including, not coincidentally, an inordinate share of the senior-most) will be on the streets two years from this date.

EVERY October each organization or site reviews their headcount and decides whether any positions can be eliminated. This happens EVERY October.

Agree with this, but it's not every year we lose LOE of a major like Celebrex & just watch how generic companies find a way to sneak in a version of Viagra one way or another. Just hang tight.

    Agreed.
If you think this is a joke or you think things are not going to restructure quickly, you are sadly mistaken. I hope you are going to face reality and prepare yourself and your family.

Celebrex will be out of Cluster 1's bag by the end of September. September will be the month for announcements and transparency.

That is not so bad. As long as it doesn't effect CV

Opinion on CBX or do you know something? I highly doubt they give up the last 3 months if detailing CBX.

Agree….the former post is BS. We are selling CBX until the very last day possible. Plus we have goals too already.

How am I sad and naive? So you think they will pull hundreds of reps off of Celebrex with 3 months to go? You're crazy. Come back in October/November and lets talk.

Do I really need to explain "Income versus expense to you?"
That would be your first mistake-? Not understanding this is your first mistake.

I'm just talking about the comment of CBX being gone from our bags in Sept. Not gonna happen, come back and lets talk then.

Look at the past and LOE. When did products go LOE and when did we stop promoting them ?

We can still sell brands without promotion, hence expense vs revenue.

Yes- Profit / Loss statement. Now you understand the driver behind the layoffs. Why can't anyone else understand?
