My mind drifts back to the manipulation that was our most recent launch in Orlando for Savaysa. I think to the $200 Nike cards, the Bose headphones, the renting out of Universal Studios, the live band, the smoke, the mirrors, the crazed managers waving towels and changing mantras.

    It was all an act.
    A carnival.
    An illusion.

A distraction from the fact that we were launching yet another ME TOO product with zero managed care. A product with a black box warning that was sugar coated and tied in a bow until we tried to feed that fancy delicacy to the first physician who spit it in our faces.

This company has become mediocre and sad. Arrogant and pompous. They attempted to distract us with prizes and promotions, fantasy bonuses and empty promises. Then turned us loose with the artificial motivation we were force fed and almost immediately turned a 180 with layoff and threats of more.

What the hell happened to Daiichi Sankyo?

Gee, where to start. Two things doomed DSI:

    1. Incompetent senior HO leadership. This product gap was visible 10 years ago and we were never able to plug it.

    2. Incompetent R&D leadership. Always late to market with me-too products. And for Effient, we pushed the dose too much and got crazy bleeding. And then for Savaysa, we pulled back too much and underdosed, causing our total cohort data to look like garbage. There needs to be a HUGE reorg in Edison starting with firing GG.

KK and RL are in full panic. They didn't sign up for a critically wounded Savaysa with no MM coverage and only minor products on the horizon.

KK likely took a hard look at the Savaysa data before coming on board and really believed it might hit a billion (someday, not), and would help us ride out the Welchol LOE, then the HTN LOE and BD might actually bring in something valuable.

Well now he sees the truth and like you said its not the rosy picture that was painted for him.
We're sure Japan paid him a nice nut to take the helm of this limping ship, so he might stick it out for the cash.

The truth might come out if his family really moves out here over the summer. No house, no family, no KK. It has to be driving him crazy dealing with the Japanese (at DSI) who really can't move off square one for the life of them, not bs but an actual fact.

BTW, is Edison taking a hit? What the hell do we need all the hundreds of R&D folks for, I mean really. Who screwed up the Savaysa studies??

Either way it goes back to the old boys network that was allowed to stay in place too long. It might be a cliche but its a fact here. Eye was never on the ball thus we have struck out in the near term. Too bad.

Great post! What happened to DSI? Ranbaxy, Sprix, Oncology, Effient. DSI is an organization that is not capable of making good decisions. Sometimes in life mediocre organizations have to accept that fact. There are plenty of opportunities out there. Everyday you spend at DSI is a day you can't get back. Life is to short to work for a loser.

Let's go all the way back to Parrish and Clue being rewarded for having reps steal in their names, picking and choosing who wins, concierge reps like RG, McLean in oblivion, OMG where do you start and now LM the mad scientist that wants a hep lead-in ( that's as old as Premarin but at least you have a craving for hay). I'm shocked, saddened, confused! That a whistleblower married to the DOJ attorney, Medicaid and Medicare fraud in NY! What the hell is going on. These follow up compliance issues after the fact! It's all over the industry and docs are laughing! Dare I go on...KK and RL are to to cut nuts and escape. Remember we are merely a sales force for the Japanese.

Can't argue with this. Edison screwed up a perfectly good product by changing the way coumadin was dosed in phase 3 versus phase 2, causing the underdosing issue. Who will be held accountable for this? Or the awful hep lead-in decision? Or the fact that commercial wasn't informed of this data problem prior to the FDA ad board?

KK was surprised to find out about savasa's renal data , remember development in Edison spins everything. They have Japan totally fooled. Guarantee they give themselves big bonus and get promotions , they probably told Tokoyo they did a great job on savaysa and the pipeline is filled with blockbusters.

The time to fix things has come and gone.the ship is sinking . It's every man for themselves . Bail as fast as you can .

nailed it? the company gives us free stuff, sends us out on their dime, pays us every two weeks, gives us extra dollars for incentive, a free car, insurance and gas, pays for 95% of our healthcare, 401k and they're the bad guys? an anonymous poster who complains it's hard to sell is the who is right? whatever kind of moral code you live by, you should change it. very sad, hundreds of people would line up to be treated as 'badly' as us

You don't find it strange that she sued BMS and her DM a decade ago and now she's the whistleblower at DSI?

    Over-hiring of reps didn't help.

The company is filled with bullshit artists. So many used car salesman in leadership i.e. Jose Llamas. All cheat. Lou Coppa was just the tip of the iceberg. Awful organization that will get what's coming to it.
