In the companywide survey this past summer, there was an overwhelming response to the numerous questions about a Christmas holiday shutdown. It was explained that so many people desired the shutdown but that it wouldn't happen until 2015. But the calendar is now out and there is no mention of a holiday shutdown. What the heck happened?
If you think Pfizer will do that you must believe in Santa Claus also. Wyeth did it years back as a way to compete with European Pharma and attract talent. No need to do that now with so much talent looking for work.
They were just going to take those 5 days away from other floater/holidays so I'd rather have it spread out throughout the year.
Do you honestly think Uncle Ian and Frank are going to give you these days off? While your out there not wanted in offices, they'll be somewhere taking it easy and forgetting about the peasants.
This is one peasant who is taking the holiday and New Years week off whether it's sanctioned or not. Pfuck Pfizer. They can go to hell.
