I got offered a CAS position in Alcon but I'm reading all this bad stuff on this site and I'm thinking it's not a good company. Does anyone know how much you get paid in this position? I was told it range from 80k-90k is that accurate? Is it a company were you can retired from? Should I even consider it? Any help would be appreciated..

I already said what was mention but after reading all this negative comments I'm doubtful. Just want to see if there's anyone out there doing the same position to get some info plus all I'm reading on this site is that people are getting laid off. Those anyone know if the layoffs are affecting this position also?

I would recommend looking at Glassdoor.com for reviews. Cafe Pharma does offer good insight, but it is also a lot of griping, venting, etc.

Pros: good benefits, good 401k, and everything you would look for on paper of a company. Can you retire from here, yes, but you have to keep your job

Cons: there have been a lot of "reorganization/restructuring" and Alcon is, and will be, going through a very rough growing period (not even close to turning company around). Will there be layoffs?? Yes....May 15 hit the FW office hard and who knows what group is next.

It is just a gamble either way. If you like the people you are working with (new team), you will like your job. But I would just know that your position could get eliminated if sales don't go up.

Pretty Easy job as long as you can remember to keep saying the following
    1. glistenings in Acrysof do not exist - you doctor are the only one who has reported them
    2. No Doctor you are the only one in the world experiencing PC ruptures, AC tears with LenSx
3 Doctor is you don not start using the LenSX with the Alcon suite of products immediately not only will no one will refer you another cataract patient ever again, your wife will leave you and you will become impotent and lose your hair
    4. No we have never ever had a report of a Restor patient complaining of Waxy vision

Keep on looking if you would like to retire from a company. This place has no problem canning long term, productive employees. They morons actually think that by putting lies on a review will fool the courts should there be a law suit over wrongful termination. You do not need to take my word on this. This unethical company lost big time in a class action law suit for discriminating against woman for daring to have children. The jury decided punitive damages were in order because of how awful this company treats people. There are also criminal cases against this company in more than one country. The health and welfare of patients seems to be very low on the list of priorities. I think there are also cases of fraud Miscellaneous Options

and bribery against the this place. No regard for employees + little regard for patients + little regard for the law = Evil company

Best advice to u: check the facts for your self and then run the other way
