starting salary of $85,000 to $90,000 depending on experience. This in addition to a good bonus program.

All Hospira reps are Hospital reps:I do not know anyone except Managers that are making 80,000/year: only tenured reps with 12 plus years are seeing that salary: be careful with bonus money-- depends on market and contracts within territory:

Nope, you are asking the wrong question. The question you should be asking is this: What are the benefits? See if you can get a straight answer....

60K start salary - bonus plans that can be adjusted mid-plan in order to lessen the amount you'll receive.. bonus plans that are released 2/3's into the period (*they will see the trend and adjust your bonus to keep it capped- although it is not supposed to be capped) territories that are changed about every 18 months so you cannot possibly really figure where your base is/was.... Interesting. You can count on making about $65-$70 total... anything else is gravy.

What is going on here, I just began looking into the Anesthesia and Critical Care Specialist job and I can't believe how LOW the base saleries are and the bonus program isn't anything to write home about ethier!!!!!
Why would a experienced hospital rep (what they are looking for) come here to take a pay cut???

Please confirm base pay 65-75K or can it be negotiated to 85-95K where it should be for a very experienced hospital rep?

What about bonuses, do they change the payout program during the quarter? That's total bullshit if they do!

What about stock options? Pension plan and 401k?

starting 65K-70K - bonus = changes all the time.. Just when you think you are getting a good one... change. Market share, growth, always a change... always one step ahead of you. Territory changes every 12-18months just enough that you cannot verify the sales history or plan on the future... Smart guys in that home office... believe me. Lots of pressure for numbers.. Be tough or don't take the job! you can ONLY count on the base pay.. bonus will be gravy... but don't ever count on paying bills with it... bonus means bonus.

I was told during interviews (by DM and National Sales Director) in last two weeks that salary would be between $75-82,500...but I have a couple of years experience. Is this not what everyone else is making? That's the thing about this industry, new hires are alway hired high, while existing employees are given meager merit increases that don't seem comparable.

$80-85,000 isn't alot of money now a days if your a top preformer. Especially if the bonus potential is limited!!!

Recruiter told me today that the critical care position would pay about 110k (base+com) at plan. Key word here is at plan. Even at that, pretty much a lateral move for most experienced Hospital Reps.

You can make much more than plan if your good. Hopira also has a profit sharing plan at years end.
There is a big differnce in being a hospital rep selling pills as compaired to devices?

Dont kid your selves. They have advertised 65 to 75. However only the detail pharma dex reps get the high end. The real work force device reps usually have been offered 5,000 less the the min quoted. Look at the other device postings.

Depends on who is stating the salary. Joe? Dennis? Joelle? The Dallas DM Token? All have lied or miss-led in interviews in the past. I suppose you can not call it miss-leading for I am sure that people in these positions knew the truth when they stated the pay range and vacation time.

While I do not agree with the manner in which V characterizes those named he is correct. Just ask the original Anesthesia and Critical Care team. They will support the claim that salary offered was less than salary quoted and that vacation offered was less than vacation quoted. As I recall there was only two company people directly linked to this lack of integrity. To research this further read the other threads. In particular read "Dont take the Device Job".

how does nine years with Abbott / Hospira at pay grade 15 making $65,000 sound to you? That is base salary. All incentives are created to try their best to NOT pay you. Plus with the crappy HIP ( used to be profit sharing at Abbott) we took a pay cut in 2007 as it is now based on your sales of only two items, both newly released, one is a prefilled syringe that only comes in one drug, the other is a premium IV container that has an upcharge no one wants to pay

I find that just about everyone at Hospira who has manager, vp, or something other than Account Manager on their business card, lacks integrity and cannot be trusted, especially when it comes to the reps' pay scale. If they always tell us, that their are not really that many changes, why is the middle of March and we do not have a comp. plan in writing yet? Everything is "always subject to change" or "proposed." One of the guys in the main building actually said at a national meeting, that his boss and the head of sales gave him alot of heat because they paid out too much in incentives.

If you don't even know what "the main building" is called, then you don't deserve incentives.
