Default Non-pharma exper policy

For the CNS side is this an actual policy or just a practice?

Are there ecepxtions? If so what?

Does it matter? Why not apply and find out? No matter what answer you received on this board, if you are good, why not go after it?
The GI and Renal groups are hiring, too.

The GI group. What a joke
What are you guy's doing a suicide pack?
You have no GI division. Does Pentasa make a GI division?
Let's see, Pentasa is a glorified aspirin. Doesn't work in Crohns. Can't build it's market share in UC.
You guys are on the road to layoff's

Sounds like fear and apprehension to me. We have starting a GI business unit. Pentasa is a good product to start and the next one is very near.
I don't blame you for wanting to mess with people who will be joining our team. Maybe even some from your company?

CNS as a rule has not hired reps with experience in pharma. Unfortunately, that probably won't change in the near future. GI is under new leadership and with the launch of Mesavant coming up they are looking to bring in experienced reps....particularly those with GI experience. The company is slowly moving towards a consultative approach to selling versus a memorized script.

CNS may not be too far behind, especially if there are to be expansions in light of new product launches.

As others have said on here, go ahead and apply. Let Shire tell you NO.
Hope that helps.

Not fear. Just curiousity.
A 5ASA now doesn't make sense. Pentasa a good product? Look at the results in the only disease state doc's like it Crohns. It has about 40% efficiacy.
Your reps will be calling the headhunters the day tehy return from training.
