Default Considering Neuro Position in Atlanta

I have been contacted by a recruiter to interview with the Neuro. Division in Atlanta. Can you give me an insider's view of what to expect? I am looking for information on base, bonus at goal, attainability of goal, stock options, company atmosphere, etc., etc. Thank you!

Base will range depending on where you are now, target bonus is 40, no stock options (they are given out in special circumstances to KAMs, like winning Presidents Award). There is alot of opportunity in this territory. It did really well at one time and now its going to need a little rebuidling. Excellent manager- her team loves her! As far as company environment...it depends who you talk to, but things may change when the acquisition takes place in early January. You should interview...although you probably wont be considered unless you have Neuro or injectable experience or something really specialized like Oncology.

You seem to have a lot of great/useful information. I was wondering if you know about the Buffalo/Rochester position. I was contacted by the recruiter. I know the rep that left. He is a great guy/worked hard. I plan on contacting him regarding his experience at Serono, but thought I would also ask "the board" for any insight. Thanks.

Banghead Re: Considering Neuro Position in Atlanta

Your lack of intelligence will serve you well should you pursue the NY/Buff position. How do I know that you are a stupid Fuck? Well any douche bag that chooses to "ask the board" anything has illustrated just how stupid they are. No please go drown yourself in your own urine.

Why are you on the board??? Most people use it to get information about a company that they can't always ask the interviewer. Do you think a hiring Manager is going to be completely honest with a prospective candidate? I doubt it. They aren't going to mention if there is low morale, lack of bonus, how bad the territory is doing (if it is performing poorly). You need to get a clue.

Merry Christmas to you & maybe if you are lucky Santa will leave you some soap to wash your mouth out & if you are really luck you will get a personality!!!!

Question Re: Considering Neuro Position East

I have also been contacted by a recruiter for a KAM Neuro Position - was told many moved into SAM positions. How is the company to work for - is micro-management a company philosophy? I currently work in Big Pharma and the environment has become so micro-managed - don't want to move from one micro situation to another.
Any thoughts?

This is nothing like big pharma except for computer testing, role playing over the phone and a full day of role playing with sales training. PI test many field rides and call reach and frequency till you get sick. This is not what I thought biotech would be but they pay well.

I couldn't agree with this post more. It doesn't seem to me that this company really care about sales. All they care about is checking the box. take a test....take it again........role play..........role play again.......repeat....repeat....repeat. They do however, pay well.

Thank you! Does sound like big pharma as well (checking the box); what are the call and frequency expectations? How often does a manager ride with you and what is a typical field ride like? Outside of pay, what do you feel are advantages over big pharma? I really appreciate your feedback!

Did you ever get the information you sought from the former rep? Why did he leave?

Are you referring to the Atlanta rep or the Buffalo rep. The Buffalo rep was a great guy...so please clarify who you are referring to. The territory sucks with a competitive stronghold. Im sure he got tired of beating his head against the wall and watching his colleagues rake in big bucks. He left a little too soon....Im sure he would be a SAM right now.

referring to the Buffalo rep....Who or what accounts do SAMS have vs KAMS?
I know from talking with the recruiters that the SAM is a new position, so who will the KAMS primarily call on since that is what I will be interviewing for.
Thank you

You must be joking the Buffalo rep would have never been a SAM he was lucky to keep his job. His numbers sucked he had a big mouth not well liked in his accounts.

I think you guys are talking about two different people. RB was great. I think he had Rochester though. The other guy was a pain in the ass.

Was this the former Syracuse rep?? I am interviewing for an upstate NY KAM position ; I was told Buffalo and Syracuse will split the Rochester area. What is the interview process like? I'll be on a phone screen in the next week or so. Per the earlier OP; what is the difference between SAM and KAM - is it the accounts they call on??
Was also told that there is no current Business Director for this territory and they are currently interviewing - did the former BD leave or was he/she promoted within??
I appreciate the information! Thank you!

Default Buffalo position?

Why did the rep leave and where is he now? Did he stay in pharma, go device, or get smart and find a real career??

What kind of $ can the Buffalo position expect with Biogen having a strong presence?

Yes, many were promoted to SAM positions - but they are not replacing those, don't let the recruiter fool you. They made the territories bigger. You are replacing someone who quit or got fired - depending on your location.
