Lol Re: Ziana

Hahaha what a joke...who are you to even compare them! Ziana is old form of tretinoin and has less efficacy with 2 products than what Differin Gel can give patients mono therapy. PLEASE...

Argue Wrong

You have got to be kiddiing. The Global success rate for Differin is about 16% and 28 to 50% for Ziana. The Differin trials didn't enroll patients with severe acne and Ziana did. Adapalene is a relatively weak retinoid compared to tretinoin. In a head to head Ziana would kick Differin's butt.

Isn't the tretinoin in Ziana the old Retin-A...Well, the old Retin A is unstable (Oxidized by the BPO) when used with a BPO...

Well, with Ziana, you need a BPO to counter Bacterial Resistance. If you use a BPO the Tretinoin in Ziana will be oxidized (will not work)

OK, let's not use a BPO...the Bacterail resistance.

Well, the product cannot be used with a BPO.

However, the Retin A micro is stable with BPO, the the old (Generic) form is not and that is the formulation Medicis used for this dog a$$ product.

If this is hard to understand:

1. Ask your older derms what problem they had when they used the old retin A with BPO's. They will tell you the BPO Oxideized the hell out of the tretinoin. Oh, make sure you remind the new derms about this fact as well.

2. call Sales Training.

Why do I know this. Well, let me tell you. I worked for dermik in the 1990's and sold Benzamycin. A doctor asked me if he could use Retin A (the old formulation) with Benzamycin. I asked around and called into medical affairs to inquire. They told me to have the docter to call them, because I could not talk off label use. They also told me that Retin A is not stable with a BPO. Other doctors confirmed this for me. Again, the Micro is stable but the formulation in ziana is not...

BTW differin is with the studies to prove it with combo with BPO.

Its funny that differin is talking efficacy! Everyone knows two things about differin, 1. Its tolerated well. 2. Its the weakest branded tretinoin. Stick to what made you so huge, tolerability.

Uh listen ass, we all know that the reason that Ziana was not approved the first time around is because the efficacy wasn't any better than the vehicle. Medicis is going to get the business by doctors having new toy syndrome and with their astronomical budgets. ASS! There are NO NO NO head to head studies of Differin vs. Ziana so you can hypothesize all you want. Douche!

Lol Wrong again

Ah another dumb ass rep. Ziana blew vehicle out of the water on all clinical endpoints in all studies. Go read the package insert if you want to figure out what happened, I'm not going to spoon feed you. If you know your stuff you'll be able to figure it out.

Cheers,

The acne guru

Banghead Re: Ziana

AFTER READING THE INFORMATION IN THE PREVIOUS POSTINGS ONE WOULD HAVE TO CONCLUDE THAT THERE IS NO WAY TO COMPARE THE TWO PRODUCTS... DO YOU REALLY NEED HEAD TO HEAD STUDIES TO KNOW WHICH ONE WORKS BETTER... OR WILL THE DOCTORS AND THE PATIENTS DECIDE.... I HAVE A FEELING THE GALDERMA PRODUCT WILL STILL GET SOME BUSINESS FROM DIE-HARDS... BUT EVEN THE GALDERMA REPS SHOULD BE ABLE TO UNDERSTAND WHEN THEY ARE BEATEN.....ZIANA DOES NOT HAVE TO COMPARE ITSELF TO DIFFERIN...INFACT, DIFFERIN DOES HAVE TO COMPARE ITSELF TO ZIANA...BUT DOCTORS HAVE ALREADY DONE THE MATH IN THEIR HEADS AND 1+1=2 AND THE COMBINATION OF BPO AND CLINDA MADE SENSE SO DOES RA AND CLINDA. YOU SEE ONCE THE DOCTORS USE IT AND SEE THE RESULTS AND THE LACK OF SIDE EFFECTS....IT WON'T MATTER THE DOCTORS WILL STILL USE THE COMBO... THEY LOVE THE COMBO...U SHOULD COMBO DIFFERIN AND CLINDAMYCIN.....MAYBE COME OUT WITH A STRONGER DIFFERIN...OOOOPS...YOU TRIED THAT ALREADY...FDA SAID ...NAH ...NOT SUCH A GOOD IDEA.

Paranoid Acne guru = da bomb

I can't kill myself, it would create too much of a void in the world, especially for Galderma. I'm the masta spider.

Lol Re: Ziana

Whoever is replying about Ziana with all those long comments, sorry for you because seems like you are selling that crappy drug. Good luck selling generic products! HAHA Guess you have been brain washed that it is a good drug for patients. FYI- take a look at the Ziana PI (which isnt even with the samples) to see the efficacy data with TWO agents. Sad!

Ziana absolutely sucks! I have been using it for moderate acne. I had no problem at all in the past with Retin A Micro .1 but figured I would give it a try. I am bright red and itching so bad I can't stand it. I have resorted to stopping using it and now using a high potency steroid to try to get rid of the red and burning. It is unbearable. I certainly did not expect this to be the result. I liked the occassional acne better.

I am a dermatologist in Florida and my Vanos rep told me if I wrote 30 prescriptions of the new combo drug Ziana that I would receive a flat screen TV for my waiting room and 10 free vials of Restylene. I am writing it for all my patients regardless of their condition and have not received any callbacks, but I haven't seen my rep and I am very concerned. Is she O.K.????

PLEASE STOP RESPONDING TO THE ZIANA POST!!! Some Medicis jerk put this up just to get us fired up and tell him exactly how we sell against Ziana. It is a budget product on its own and will surely fail- but lets not give this guy or any other Medicis scum any info that could potentially slow their market share decline (from 5 to 0).

Notworthy Re: Ziana VS Differin

UM.. Hello... well I'm not arguing about all of the above! I just wanted to say that I am an actual patient! I have been on Differin 1% for about 10 years. After having my son 4 yrs ago my hormones flew out of control and got moderate acne (I was generally on it for mild acne - to moderate acne, as well as painful bumps at that time of the month). Differin had been my saviour!

When I went to the new Derm. after having my son-he switched me to Ziana. I liked the results for the first few weeks. Said I wasnt responding to differin any longer. After that I stuck with it-though didnt like the feel of my skin and was not having any results-it tapered off. In addition I was using Clindamyacin too.

I went back to my Differin 1% though I think I just need to go to 3%. Going to the Derm. tomorrow. Differin also helps keep my skin soft and smooth-even out the oily-dry ratio and with the Ziana I never knew what to expect. It also showed up any little fine lines as it dried my skin ou more than Diff would. I have "GREAT" skin with differin and barely have to use any(sometimes every other night) after a while..once I get on the medication.

Hopes that helps anyone that just [plain speaks "everyday lingo"!

Hi Doctor,
Your rep is just fine, she is in jail just like you will be soon after you accept the TV and go outside the OIG/FDA guidelines.
