Default CNBC Plans feature on Drug Reps

FYI: Next Thursday CNBC Plans To Make Drug Reps Look Like Bribery
Expose will feature anti-rep activists whining there are too many reps ...
"DRUG MONEY" ... showering doctors with pens, steak dinners, and even rebates for prescribing their drugs. “Does this gift giving create a conflict of interest and persuade doctors to prescribe”...[CNBC]
Editor's Note: It's a teaser copy for the TV show; look for the report in the lower left hand quadrant of the page below the "business Nation logo".

Maybe they could do another show on the compensation packages of James Cornelius? That would really eye opening.

i don't agree with a lot of these news reports, but there are indeed way too many reps. Companies like BMS, Pfizer, GSK, Merck, etc are the major causes of the problem. There should be mass layoffs in this industry and it is long overdue.

I totally agre. Why on earth - WHY?!! - even two, much less six or eight - reps should be selling one drug to the same physician in the same geography?! Those of us who have worked in the industry for many years know that this entire concept of POD selling is totally wasteful.

CNBC Viewers, I hope your reading this. There is a law that went into place 3-4 years ago. The fact is that we cannot do anything but bring in lunch and do a dinner anymore. The days of Football and basketball games are over! If you think your doctor will be persuaded which drug to write over a lunch, then you should find a new doctor! The facts are that if we don't provide your doctor with the facts about OUR drugs, they may prescribe something to you that is outdated. Love us or hate us, we KEEP YOU AND YOUR LOVED ONES ALIVE!!!!
