Zetia 49 Strategy
Wondered what everyone thinks about this Zetia 49 plan??
I hate having extra $$ that I have to spend on Drs that I can barely see.
I have a hard time spending all my lunch/dinner $$ now.
Can't get docs out to dinner anyway - especially the ones they've targeted for me.
Why is there no accomodation for additions/deletions on the list from those who know the business, territory, customers the best - the reps??
This instruction that we are to have a lunch or dinner EVERY DAY - come on!! Like all the Drs offices aren't booked already for the year - or have stopped doing lunches/dinners altogether!
Hey Marketing Genuises - this isn't 1990 anymore, ya know??
Throwing money at a problem is not the way to fix things - it will only make matters worse. Have the company come clean about the study, give us some good (or even not so good) evidenced based medicine - and let us earn back the business the right way.

Hey how about replacing the Vytorin combination of Zetia and Simva with Zetia and Cheerios. Change the dose to one bowl per day with skim milk. Create a TV ad with Mikey. He will eat it Mikey eats everything. You could call it something creative like Cheatios.
Come on, I know you SP shitheads can make something out of all of this. Run a trial call Son of Enhance and use a Priest as the "Head Investigator and enroll only 8 year old little boys. Then hold the results for 10 years until they reach legal age and then reveal the truth. Send this one up to your marketing team. After a couple million dollars on agency and consultant fees you will get a blue box instead of a yellow one and Mikey will now be Mickey.

Re: Zetia 49 Strategy
Does any one think that having all this extra money thrown at us looks and feels like we are "buying" back the business - not "earning" back the business?
Once again, SP is seeing just how far it can go without crossing the line...
Hey Fred, Carrie - the line HAS been crossed!
Integrity counts!
So we have a quarter or two of single digit or no growth, its ok, you know?
Let us be proud that we work for this company rather than skulking around trying to figure out how we can spend over a thousand dollars/month to buy back the business.
Its an election year - and the whole world is watching!!
Good luck at the ACC!

Re: Zetia 49 Strategy
Here is why it will not work:
- This is another version of increasing share of voice (SOV) in hopes of increasing prescriptions. Right from the 1990's Big Pharma Playbook. The theory is that if we pound the message enough, doctors will write.
- We have lost the trust of doctors. It is not the message, but until there is DATA showing that Zetia reduces CV events and mortality, doctors will say that we are just spewing the same old shit, and get even more pissed.
- The pharma sales model is changing. Soon, you will see more and more companies going with 1 rep per doc, and focusing on developing relatioships and trust to drive business and less focus on presentations that look like commercials.
- Fred and Carrie are hopelessly stuck in the last century.

Re: Zetia 49 Strategy
You know I raley see a decent post on this sight but i totally agree with the first poster.
This Zetia 49 program is ridiculous, and totally mimics the Zetia program that we had in cpc 3 07 where we had to make 11 calls for all of our tier 5 docs. I was the same problem then with the company picking the docs for us.
Our dms need to meet wtih each team individually and put together a plan thats right for each territory.

Re: Zetia 49 Strategy
Lots of good thoughts here from the reps regarding this ridiculous Z49 program. This is not how gain back the lost business - good, unbiased evidenced based medicine (as stated before) is the only way to go. And if we have to wait for it - we'll have to wait. And the share holders will have to wait as well.
Any other approach, especially if it comes from the Marketing Dept, will only loose us more credibility in the eyes of our customers.
Come on, Fred, Carrie et al - lets raise the bar, integrity should be whats driving us now - NOT a stupid throw-money-at-docs-to-gain-back-share program.

Re: Zetia 49 Strategy
More of the same old Fred and Carrie. If your sales stall, break the law. if your sales dip, break the law more. By the way, make sure that you and your cronies cash out the stock when it's high - based on only what you know. Also, let your family and all your friends know so they don't get stuck. Insider information is worth millions (about an extra $11 million or so for Carrie so far (900,000 shares @ $12 more per share = $10.8 million)).

Re: Zetia 49 Strategy
If Schering-Plough is hoping to get attention, they got it. Discussion of this plan is all over the internet. However, this is definitely the wrong kind of attention. For a company that just created the ENHANCE fiasco, this is another stupid move. Do you have to have an IQ less than 100 to be a toip executive at SP? What are they thinking?
I seriously hope that the federal government raids Kenilworth an uncovers all the graft inside. It will be enough to put these people away for years. I've worked at a few Big Pharma companies and this one is the absolute most corrupt I've ever been exposed to, bar none! Fred and carrie wouls sell their souls if they thought it would drive sales and profits. They are getting very desperate. I'm sure that Sean and Ray hand a big hand in this as well. What a bunch of jerks!

Re: Zetia 49 Strategy
IQ below 100, that is a must for senior management positions in most if not all pharma companies, it just seems that S-P has the additional demand that it has to be below 90.......
Guess what, they get away with it too, so they must have an advantage over us somewhere.....so are we the dumb ones or are they?
In the end all fred does is trying to ride the bucking stock exchange bronco, anything he does or says goes as he is pharma's wonderboy(which says more about the other CEOs).
His word still is worth something, for how long I don't know.....

Re: Zetia 49 Strategy
Instead of throwing $$$$$ at the problem, we should be educating the doctors through any means possible.

Great job Fred and Carrie, Sean and Ray! You are now in the NJ Star Ledger for this antiquated program! Is this the best you can do? Why in the world does anybody pay you the big bucks? Give us a break!
