When will we know if the patent expiration is granted or denied? Six more months is job security for a while.

I worked with Mary Van Horn (ex Hendrickson) as a PSS and I can assure you she will not be saving anything. She was weak as a PSS but excellent in taking credit for others work and successes. This person should not be handed a specialty job just because she failed as a DM. I pity whoever it is she will be working with because they will feel like a babysitter every time they have to take her by the hand and explain to her "again" what she's supposed to be doing. Bad choice by AZ to put this one in Oncology. Did the DM even have a choice here or was this assigned to the poor fool. Look out below AZ, off-label Mary is back in the field.

What happened to the Onc 3 rep in Orlando? Was this person displaced or managed out? Something is very strange in Florida.

http://uk.reuters.com/article/rbssHe...081119?sp=true

"AstraZeneca said its trial for Zactima, one of a new class of drugs called TK inhibitors, met its key goal in combination with Sanofi-Aventis's (SASY.PA: Quote, Profile, Research) chemotherapy treatment Taxotere, but not with Eli-Lilly's (LLY.N: Quote, Profile, Research) Alimta.

The results also showed the drug did not perform better than Roche Holding (ROG.VX: Quote, Profile, Research) Genentech Inc's (DNA.N: Quote, Profile, Research) and OSI Pharmaceuticals' (OSIP.O: Quote, Profile, Research) Tarceva, the first of the TK inhibitors.

Analyst Simon Mather said that the results meant the drug would be useful in about 40 percent of second line patients suffering from non small cell lung cancer, the most common form of lung cancer.

"Initial headlines indicate that the product may be useful in approximately 40 percent of the estimated 50,000 second line NSCLC patients, i.e those who currently receive Taxotere or pemetrexed (Alimta) as a monotherapy," he said, adding that the results were broadly in line with his expectations.

However, Deutsche Bank analysts said in a note that "with Alimta and Tarceva moving into a 1st-line maintenance setting and other new agents on the way, we view Zactima as having largely missed its commercial opportunity in lung."

Overall, the tests, whose primary goal was prolonged progression free survival in non small cell lung cancer, showed that there were advantages to combining the drug with chemotherapy treatments, the company said.

AstraZeneca suffered a disappointment in February this year when its lung cancer drug Recentin failed to meet goals in mid-stage trials"

Realignment and displacements. Translated demotions to MC and layoffs for the rest. Now are you happy. You wanted bad news so here it is.

Goodbye Onc 1, we hate to see you go. Remember it's all about delivering a solid core message with a consistent close. Good selling!! R&D apparently has no accountability for delivering products that can be marketed.

MCL isn't such a bad place. I would prefer Hospital or CNS but Hospital just down sized and displaced took the best vacant spots. We are screwed. It had to happen because they cannot justify us any longer. It was a good ride while it lasted.
