the calm before the storm
Word is everything is going to come down Monday or Tuesday depending on when the new vaccine jobs will be filled. All applicants will be notified on Monday if they got the job or not. (in vaccines)
At that point, GSK will know how many people in Region/District/territory level they want on board. RVP's changing, DM's changing and pods. It will go down very swiftly with people that are to be "let go" or take serverence before Thanksgiving.
Look for an announcement Monday or Tuesday with a time frame to speak to your DM's about your status.

Re: the calm before the storm
You can post anything you want here and most of it's bullshit, so take it with a grain of salt.
BUT-Monday, Tuesday next week is when the shit is going to hit the fan. The people already working in vaccines who were helping with the interview process were told (info NOT shared with those outside of vaccines) that they had to speed things up and notify who is getting hired by Monday so GSK can proceed with their "reorg ie. layoffs"
Why bother reading this stuff if you don't believe anyone has info??
IDIOT!!

Re: the calm before the storm
I can confirm, there will be layoffs "sooner than later" per our CEO. I heard it first hand at RTP last week. It will be swift and soon. Sounds like he wants to do away with multiple reps with the same product. He also mentioned that the separation between Philly and RTP doesn't make sense and there will be changes. I think RTP is safe, but there will probably be a shut down in Philly with significant job cuts.

Re: the calm before the storm
This thread says Monday or Tuesday! This is about the 20th prediction already. What kind of an idiot would pay attention to this stuff. If this person actually knew something they wouldn't say Monday or Tuesday, they would say Tuesday Morning or something more specific. If changes actually occur we will hear more specifics coming out because support staff will be finding out a couple of weeks early. Its not like Witty is just going to call into the voicemail system one day and leave us all a broadcast bulletin that he is making cuts. Many people in the home office will know many details weeks before this happens. Somebody has to print up the internal paperwork on this stuff.

Re: the calm before the storm
I agree. What good does it do to know the exact details now vs. 40 hours from now? There is nothing you can do about your fate. RVP's were asked for rep and DM winning practice and rankings last week. Your future is already in a sealed HR envelope. You'll find out soon enough.

I'm a managed care manager and we have a call with Tuesday, tomorrow, about the re-org. I don't know if anyone else does but I will be on that call. This is not bullshit.

If you truly do not care, then why are you trolling the boards looking for information. I would rather know now than wait.
OP, I would like to have information sooner rather than later if you are willing to share.

Re: the calm before the storm
The reason I said Monday /Tuesday time frame and was off by one day is because the Vaccine positions had to be offered and accepted before anything else could roll out.
They had many more applicants than was expected, so interviews went on a day longer, thus pushing the time frame one more day. They had to notify reps/DM's about the representatives who accepted the position. Now the DM's with sales/performance forced ranking will place their reps in their alloted positions. Most of the cuts will be from the SK side, but some of them will be joing our districts. This will depend on manager selection as well as what the RVP's deemed the optimal amount of positions per TST. It will be different for each territory. If the territories are disadvantaged ie managed care issues... they will not have a position for a selling phase. The managers working with the RVP's will have more control over optimizing their business and opportunites this way and moving reps where they actually have more business opportunities (refer to Witty's and Lafmin's messaging) stay tuned

Re: the calm before the storm
Yep the hammer drops on Weds 11am est..... Look for more info on "my gsk"..... I highly doubt the cat will be let out of the bag. I guess we can all take a "Andy" day on weds to just let the information settle in.
I doubt GSK will make their #'s this 4th qtr after this, but I would assume the cost "savings" realized (the accounting BS they feed analysts) will show them being profitable. Witty came in for a reason and that was to kill off the duplication of the jobs. There is no reason to have 12 reps in district territories anymore. 12 reps x lets say 100k in pay+benefits is rediculous for what this company has brought to market. Treximet doesn't make crap and PAR already filed a generic application, Avandia is a loser and the company is losing gobs of cash. Advair is the cash king, making up 40% of our revenue.... that's a recipe for bad things to happen. Advair has about 2 yrs left, so they are just beginning, as more meds come under assaut... Valtrex generic in about 6 months and imitrex generic in a month or so, this whole company will be bloody.
The company finally woke up and is realizing it's burning through cash with too much dead weight. The sad thing is those of us who remain, the culture will be horrible (more than we can imagine) and the expectations will be high and pay low. Don't expect to make much bonus and they will say, "Be glad you have a job". It's reality and unfortunately for the next 1-2 yrs this is the best it will be. Let's hope they don't stop matching our 401k's..... that's the latest corporate scandal.

Re: the calm before the storm
All this is somewhat true, cuts will be more severe on RTP side. Potential of revenue is the key word. If your region has high return of investment your cuts will be less. Allot of guessing on this thread, but most of it is true. Good Luck.
