The suit is payback for bringing in The Merck Culture and will cost BI millions now

BI Should have thought this through before bringing in the Merck culture and trying to play in big pharma. They were very profitable every year before that and employees morale high. They have brought this problem on themselves and will have to face the music now.

I read the ruling and am a little surprised. I am not in sales. Had no idea you guys do not actually sell the product to the doctor. You advertise it. You give them marketing buzz phrases and keep contact up, but the judge in the case is correct, you don't actually sell - pitch prices, sign contracts or close the deal. You are, I think, a critical part of the sale, as the doctor's need to be courted in person, but you aren't the sale.

The overtime case is right on the money in terms of the law.

And why shouldn't you have some flexibility in your day? You think the executives in the company don't swing by and drop their laundry off or go to appointments or rearrange their day for simple errands? That's just life. As long as that isn't abused, it shouldn't be a pay docker.

You're right, you're not in sales so you don't have a clue what it means to sell. I bet you work as a cashier at the local 7-11.

I've bought things from sales people - cars, appliances, insurance policies, a home, securities - they all negotiated the deals and closed them. Pharma sales doesn't.

No it isn't. I'm not the original poster but i feel torn between your logic/view and the logic /view of the person you are responding to. This is why I'm still here: my wife is very sick and has had five surgeries in the past 2 and a half years. If I didn't have the great health benefits this company and industry offers us, she would have died. Period. End of story. Since being put on my health benefits she has finally been correctly diagnosed with several conditions, the medicines for which would be over $1000 a month without our Merc Medco coverage. I need to eat, so does she. We are 200,00.00 upside down in our house right now and also have tuition bills and other family related expenses. So what do I do?? Take the moral high road at the expense of myself, my loved ones and other people in my community?? ( if i stop paying bills and can't find another job, other people will basically be suporting me with their tax dollars.)
So what do I do?? Appy to other companies- I have and it's an ongoing process. Quit outright?- not an option. or just give up?? No way. So I stay, keep my head down, try to hit my numbers and muddle through. So please, when you make these idiotic and gradious statements like love BI or quit....think about the reality of what you're suggesting and how unreasonable it is. If I could quit, I would in a minute but I have responsibilities and commitments- the least of which are to this shit hole of a company.
