Fuck you Sanofi!!!

OK so I got laid off last month but that is not the reason for my vitriol. I get displaced and SA immediately post open territories for everyone laid off. WTF!? Most of these positions are going to be filled internally so why post my old position so that every other company I interview with knows that my old territory is available. How are we going to explain ourselves in the interview for why we were displaced? And for every coward who posts "that I'm dead weight and deserved to get laid off" post your phone number and I will come fight you, you prick.

I got laid off and have seen the same thing for positions that are open in my old territory. they screwed us plain and simple! I believe you were a good rep because many good reps got let go for no good reason. This company will soon pay for their decisions. I have recently started a new job and during my interviews when they asked why I got layed off I just tell them that the company downsized and layed off nearly 1000 reps. With the economy the way it is, employers are more understandig but it does not preclude the fact that we got screwed!

I feel your pain but don't agree with your sarcasm here on this thread. I too was part of the prior layoff and while it has been emotionally painful to me and my family, I have moved onto a better pharma career. Others here responding to your dialogue who are still with s-a find it amusing to put the blame back on your shoulders as an incompetent rep. I say, shame on them. Not every former s-a rep was dismissed for the right reason. In some cases it was the two prior years when a rep(s) may have not done their best due to outside forces beyond their control. Any rep here thinking they are immune to getting the same in the future is living a dream. Pharma today is all about fighting the outside forces that come into play not to mention bad managers which are definitely plenty at s-a. Yes, we need to be clinically sound, have a professional selling style and be well-liked by our customers and peers, but even that will not save all of your remaining at s-a. So for those of you with your high and mighty attitudes, I say you better be sweeping in front of your own door and have a check up from the neck up. Good luck to all former s-a reps who have been part of these ongoing layoffs. The rest of you need to be thankful you haven't gotten the axe already and be more supportive of the rest of us.

I left Sanofi~Aventis last year on my own accord to actually persue other interests. MAN, IT IS WAY BETTER to be away from these clowns.

If you unfortunately got displaced last December, trust me the world is a much better place without the Sanofi incompetent management!!!!

Hey Jerk Off, you just admitted you were let go because of lousy performance. What do you expect a company to do, keep your sorry ass? You should be fired. All sales jobs is based upon performance, if you do not perform you are out. You got what you deserve so quit crying about it, strap on a pair of balls and admit that you screwed up. Easy for you to say until your the one being let go. I am just visiting this site for the first time and was laid off last December. Take it from my perspective, your view of this company treatment will be completely from another perspective when you are trying to dig and scratch for another career; any career for that matter right now. You might want to rethink your thoughts before posting again. I will prepare you being off the s-a payroll, etc., won't be pretty!

Good luck to all. What you have said in your post is so true. I was layed off along with you last December and life is much better. I am making almost as much money, company gas card, car allowance of $600 and good bonus and also true life work balance and respect for my managers and they for me.

would you be willing to share what kind of job you landed? I'm just starting my search. Tough... landed some pharma interviews, but am wondering what else I should be interviewing for. Would like to try medical sales, but can't even get a call back...

Sad but true, you people are the reason that many of you find yourselves in the situation that you're in. The BIG Pharma companies did everyone a disservice when they decided to over expand their salesforces. Essentially what they created were too many employees that had no business being in this industry in the first place. The managers doing the hiring had no choice but to add numbers. Long gone were the professional representatives that represented themselves and their company with the highest integrity. Sadly but at one point it was very difficult to get a job in this industry. In the past 10 years they pretty much hired anyone. For example: May I cite the immature, no class, non-professional likes that have added to this post and many others on this forum.
So to all you classless, grade school mature, non-professional individuals YOUR TIME has come! Best of luck trying to find something new when that pink slip arrives at your door step. One thing is for certain, you and your childish behavior will be thrown to the curb with the rest of nitwits out there right now.

Loss of revenue means cutting costs...that's why it is called a business.. you would do the same if you wanted to keep your company profitable and had to answer to your investors... this should not come as a surprise, next time keep yourself updated on patents and company pipelines....

The reasons for downsizing are solid but the way S-A has handled this both last year and this year is an absolute mess. No formal annoucement last year when about 10% of the force was "optimized" right out the door. Now, we have no time-lines, no plan that has been publicized, just rumor and speculation about who will be "contracted" this year. What will it be 10%, 25%, or 40%?

I love the way you guys still employed and still drinking the cool-aid talk like your company cares about you or that you have an impact on the overall thinking of upper management.WRONG THINKING!!!Those guys are so far away from you they don't even know your alive! They are thinking about Wall Street,stocks,and parachutes.

Shame on sa for making our lives a living hell. Problem here is we got big case idus a few years back thinking Accomplia is coming, Accomplia is coming and added two sales forces which was a huge mistake. Now we have all these reps and the company (Viebacher) wants to reduce overhead and the first place they go is after the sales force. Nice way to boost the company morale their Mr. Viebacher. Also thank you John Harrington for being the big man and getting all the scale ups going leaving us in a huge mess now.
