Default Lilly Pension Plan

I just finished my 5th year at Lilly and am wondering about our pension plan... Does anyone think that it is going to be taken away/downgraded for us? The pension is one of the only things that is keepting me here!!! What does everyone think?

Call HR and get a financial report

The Lilly pension plan has outstanding reserves. More than is needed to Lilly's present and future retirees

I just left Lilly in April for a job in medical device. That pension's worth about $500.00 per month when I reach retirement. Not bad for 6 years of service.

I'm gonna get $850/month after 9 years of service and I was fired !!! I was vested, so they have to pay up. That's ok, I got even and was a federal witness at one of the many Zyprexa trials for off-label marketing in primary care for demential and type II bipolar - it cost the company the largest fine by the FDA in history!!! You can get even and have you cake and eat it, too!!! The company cannot take away your pension for any reason once you have hit the five year mark. Period.

DREAM ON DOROTHY. They can shit can the pension plan and give you a cash balance plan as GSK did in screwing their people a decade ago. You get a chunk of change depending on years of service and they are done with you. I can tell you it ain't much either.

The Lilly Pension plan will be dismantled when Lilly is sold. A number of big, successful pharmas are looking at Lilly now. Since Sid & John blew Lilly's 6 billion in cash and dried up our once envied pipeline there's nothing to stop a serious buyer. Once the stock goes under $28 ( and it will ) the word Lilly will just be a brand name that is owned by another well run pharma.

That sounds GREAT! I might be one of those let go because I had a manager sold off label and this individual put me on a plan. One of the criteria used to axe individuals that give the company problems. If they do get rid of me I have been collecting a lot of info (as well as others on my team) to nail Lilly with another lawsuit. You better watch who you let go or Lillly will cease to exist....CIA....just waiting.....
