Default Tuesday

If we get the call that we still have a job, are we expected to go out in the field and work the rest of the day?

If so, It would make sense to contact those who are safe so those reps can get to work.

They are making calls in alphabetical order. I have no idea why, unless everyone has the same fate. Does anyone know if there is truth to the rumor that deeper cuts will occur in areas with little access such as Minnesota?

I have heard that areas with little or no access like MN, NYC will be cut the most. But who knows what the hell is going on. Good luck to everyone.

I heard that too. I wondered if it was just speculation. Has anyone heard anything else about the cuts? What about sample reps? Is that really going to happed or was that just speculation? DM's feel free to give some insight.

cuts are based off of access, potential (in your territory) and then performance (not sales based) on how you perform compared to other reps in your region.

Your DM's did evaluations of each rep. If your a senior rep and a CFT and performing at a PCP 2 level, your obviously not performing at the level your being paid to be at. Therefore your likely to get cut..considering your access and territory potential is low as well.

I have heard the sales force will be reduced to 2200. Not sure of the current count but think a 30% reduction is accurate. Have also heard through a third party contact that those states with little to no access will be harder hit.

I could be wrong but this looks like someone just threw out a random number out to get everyone even more frantic.

There are currently 2800 PCP, SSF and contract sales reps. Supposedly the number Bob Johnson wants to get down to is 2000. Access and physician:rep ratio seems to be the key. If you are in a state or geography that has minimal access then expect some changes. Also if there are not enough physicians for reps (for example frequency is too high because not enough docs to see) that's also taken into consideration.

What do you mean by being a CFT and PCP 2 in relation to pay and being fired? Do CFT's get more money? I was not aware of that.

I think what he meant was that if you are a CFT or Senior Rep, or PCP 2 but only slipped down to only having the competency ratings of a PCP 1, then you may be in Jeopardy.

Paranoid Re: Tuesday

hey....lets start naming the layoffs like hurricanes.....The layoff in 93 could be called "Arlene" (category 1) ....the "restructuring layoff" in 07 was a cat 2.."Bettina"...the "non layoff layoff" thats heading for us tommorrow looks like a cat 5...lets call her "Catherine"..looks like she is going to be a doozy.
What will we call next years? How about "Donna"?
Good luck with Catherine tommorrow everybody..

Yes Hurricane Bob followed by Hurricane Marty if Twynsta is delayed and FDA approvals don't happen on time (or at all).
