Re: Specialty Reps/ Lay Off
I can confirm that no spec reps were laid off in mid-atlantic region but primary care was hit hard (about half were cut.) They even lost an outstanding rep who was displaced in neuro last year and took a primary care position in a territory they had to commute to (which is the only reason that makes sense as to why they were let go over some of the people who were kept...they weren't living in the territory they were working)!!! This rep was a sr. rep with tenure as well as consistent top performance and competency ratings!!! Seriously, how does this make sense? This rep has done nothing but bend over backwards for this company and was simply a product of being in the wrong place at the wrong time...i mean what else could this rep have done...seriously? At the end of the day...alot of really good people across the country got let go today & that sucks! Congrats to those who kept jobs today but don't get too comfy...cuz no one is safe in this industry anymore. As it continues to be suffocated by external and internal forces companies will continue to "re-organize" as they deem necessary. This means nothing but uncertainty for anyone who choses to remain a part of it. So be thankful for the sweet compensation/benefits you have today & ride it out as long as you can but have a back up in place! Cuz no matter how hard you work and your rankings/competencies reflect that hard work, you never know when it might be you who finds yourself in the wrong place at the wrong time! Good luck to all...oh and good selling!!!
