I hate to say it, but don't you think it will be nice to take a break from all this BS?! A PAID break... 60 days WARN (regular pay checks as if you're still working) and then whatever severence you get (a nice sum for those that have been around a while).

Yes, yes, I know that in today's economy stable employment is best and many of you had years vested that will not be able to replace going anywhere else. But use this as a chance to better your life, do something you really enjoy with less stress that's more rewarding. Make some lifestyle adjustments and enjoy the time off while looking and planning.

I think the sa count prior to yesterday was around 6,000 reps. If 20% were cut that would be 1,200. That leaves us with approximately 4,800 left. Assuming the next cut will be mid-year and again this time next year sa should be down to about 3,000 at that point.

That was the rumor last year too, that the next cut would be summer 2009 - - clearly wasn't true. I doubt that will be the case this time around as well; we'll probably have to wait until the holidays once again. Yay 2010.

I think the GTPC5 team would disagree with you about this year's summer layoffs...

1300 GT reps were let go, not sure how many on the ST side. CVIN and MTIN teams will be merged in the summer and many hosp reps will be displaced.
