The only good DM I've had in my 15 years in the industry was the one who hired me at BMS when I first started in the industry. The rest of them have really sucked and I'm amazed I've been able to hang on in this industry.

One good DM in 15 years is probably the average. Sad, isn't it?

The phrase "best dm at Sanofi-Aventis" is like saying "the most honest politician" or "the best view at the landfill" ....this should be a short thread.

Kevin T is a bitch. It made me sick to have to be civil to him. I am so glad he is gone. How someone so stupid could be so arrogant just amazed me. Just because some fool gives you a DM job it doesn't mean you are a leader or someone special. Respect is earned. If I ever see him again I will bitch slap the pussy.

I've had more than one DM whom most would consider to be in the "best ever" class. Unfortunately, this industry has evolved into a wrecking machine that will transform even those excellent DMs into a horror story. I experienced it, firsthand.

What needs to be realized here is that most (not all) DMs who have followed the company's mandates are really good people. It's a shame some have been forced to become hard-liners. Again, I know there are some genuine cold-hearted bitches but sometimes you gotta blame the company, not the boss.

Au contraire, mon frere...everyone is responsible for their own actions and behavior!!!!! I would never do what managers do to their reps because of pressure from upper management. That's why this dysfunctional cycle continues! Yes, if you stand up to them, you may be managed out, but instead, you make the reps take the fall for shit they have no control over. How you fuckers can sleep at night is beyond me, but then again, I have a conscience! So.... don't tell me that these bastards are good people! Good people don't sell out to keep their jobs and then blame the company for their bad behavior and destruction of reps. Accept accountability and take some fucking action. DM's need to take a stand and there's a hell of alot of you out there that could say enough is enough!!
Organize a meeting with all DM's in your region, or whatever! Don't just fuckin whine that the company makes you do what you're doing! NOBODY CAN MAKE YOU DO ANYTHING WITHOUT YOUR CONSENT!

You blame the company and the dm who is either a piece of shit to begin with or embraces becoming one. Sorry, I won't let them off the hook.

You obviously never worked for him. Kevin T. was one of the few DM's that treated people like adults. Who are you, one of the GT people that never made it over to ST? I doubt your fat ass could bitch slap anyone but your own pussy. Enjoy selling used cars.

You must have his phone number if you know him so well. Why don't you give him a call and meet up with him so you bitch slap him, then let us know how it worked out.

You won't because you're too much of a pussy.

I worked for KT and all in all, I thought he was a good guy. Not the best DM, but not the worst.

Whether you have an issue with him or not, you look like a complete loser hiding behind your keyboard spewing hate and posting threats.

I agree with the above poster. Stop being a pu$$y and shut the f*ck up coward. Or else be a man and call him on the phone.

Peace

Have over 20 years in the company. Have had 2 really great DM's which were the years of my greatest successes, 2 that could motivate although not great, 2 who were clueless but nice people, a couple who were such short timers I cannot classify, and the last one who was the ultimate scum of the earth which seems to be the norm over the last couple years as the last of the really great DM's were forced out at the end of 2008. If you are left at s-a, that is what you have to look forward to. Me, I have moved on to a much better place...

I've heard he's gone, which isn't a surprise, because all of the good ones are, but...
STEVE MCCAIN is without question the best DM they every had. He's also a great human being, which is also rare in this company.

Alan Chant. An original Innovex rep who was hired by Aventis and moved up the ladder. A registered pharmacist, Chant managed to do what few reps who became managers did--remember what it was like to be in the field. And his management style reflected that. Is he still inside S-A? AC needs to get back out into the field. He is VP material, if I ever saw one.

You must be a contract rep because this company isn't hiring anyone to a full time spot for sales in the next 5 years. Many have interviewed only to not hear from the company for months only to be told that the position was "closed".

New Jersey has 2 ST managers with side jobs and run side businesses. You wonder why they have so many office days. One of these managers gave a rep a hard time for getting their car washed during the work day. What a joke it is.

Well where do we start? He was promoted because he has no spine to start with. He'll tell you that you're doing good, but then if his moron RD doesn't like you he'll change his story. Understand this..he will NOT support you, no matter how what he says to your face. Take this job at your own risk and watch your back. Good luck.
