But let's be fair -- it isn't because competition is kicking their butt. First, X-stop was stripped out of their bag. Second, a questionable study gave reason for insurers to deny coverage to vertebropoasty and kyphoplasty.
While there may be people dancing at Medtronics difficulties, it surely isn't the companies that just released products into a shrunken market. We know they spent their money based upon a pie that seemed to be growing or at least the pie as it existed a six months ago.
This sector is in trouble if they don't change the coverage
