I was let go by KCI a few years ago for some pretty "flimsey" reasons. It was ridiculous. I applied for unemployment and KCI tried to block it. They outright lied about why I was let go and blamed me for many things that I did not do. Luckily, I was able to produce documentation that proved KCI wrong and I obtained my benefits. Without that I would have been toast. I was able to get unemployment and left the KCI mugs standing there with egg on their faces. You cannot trust senior management and you should never trust anyone in HR at this friggin company.

We used to be proud of this company. And to be part of it. Not anymore. I've lost my pride.

It needs to go away (the company). It has Cancer. NO CURE. Send flowers.

You have heard of "growing pains" with new companies... We are now n "shrinking pains" We are doing stuff out of "mid-life crisis mode". KCI is trying to hang onto the glory days and denying our age by firing the older generation of folks. It is a desparate attempt to hang on to the past. Every product has its life cycle. Patents run out, competition moves in. The consumer doesnt care that we were first. If they did, everybody in the world would being driving a 1908 model T ford. If you have any clue, then you realize that all of medicine is a work in progress, and progress requires competition.

We are in panic mode. We thought we found the holy grail, but actually not. Seriously. We need to get over ourselves and stop firing pople because business only goes up 1% instead of %10. In the next few years, we will be lucky to not go down 10% per year. If you think this sounds crazy, then you probably just got done changing the oil on you modl T.

So, the stock is stuck under $40. What is the next dumb thing this Company will do. Think about hiring back some of their brain trust. The ones we have hired, don't seem that sharp.

There is no hope with the current management in charge. For those of you who are waiting for Dr JIm to ride to the rescue, don't hold your breath. He voted "ALL" of his stock infavor of the COB and CB. He likes the direction of the company. Furthermore, medicority is "king" at KCI now. Obviously you have a degree in finance, right? Wrong! Wal-Mart is down due to their exsposure as a consumer driven company. GE is down due to their ties to the government and the contracts that eminate from the government. KCI on the other hand, is down due to Wall Street's view of the management team. KCI has not yet made a US target for over three quarters. Pressure from Medicare and MCO's on pricing is making money managers trade in and out of the stock for short term gain. That type of trading is only done with stocks that have no long term value to the holder. The next investor con-call should be interesting.

ALWAYS appeal! With unemployment so high, the EDD offices are denying claims based on what the employer says. Unless you were fired for failing a drug test, etc... think of this denial as just a way of weeding out those who are too lazy or uneducated to appeal. Guaranteed you will win your case in front of the EED judge. I know many who are collecting unemployment, and all were fired and had their initial claim denied. After appealing, all of them won.

I worked for KCI for several years. I used to laugh about all the christian morals talked about at the NSM and posted all around the tower. What a joke-especially at the NSM when more than half the company was sleeping with someone other than their partners at night. One of the biggest hypocrites is the preacher's wife. She'd stab anyone for a sale or if it meant she would get another undeserved promotion. Amen.

I really can't believe that good old Dr. Jim would let this happen to his Company. Maybe we should take a closer look at his real motivation. Gods work, or a Semi-Truck full of $100 dollar bills. I wonder which one really means the most to him?

You continue to be proved a LIAR. The highest the stock has EVER been was for one day in 2005 at $76.30. This is a business, it is not about top line revenue nor is it about "taking care of customers", it is about bottom line profit. It is not about anything else, nor should it be. So whatever already happened, happened only in your head. Go back to mopping the floor and scraping fecal matter off a bed.

I've been here almost a year. I've come to the conclusion that this was probably the worst decision I could have ever made. I've been taking some classes. Maybe that will allow me to hide my time with KCI on my Resume. Would love to say it's been fun, but that would be a lie.

Time won't be of any benefit. Here just about two, it seems to get worse by the day. Money isn't the issue, it's the work culture. You can't trust a sole here.
