New World Order

In just literally moments our world as american citizens will change. For good or bad only time will tell. We know that industry supports the health care reform, but I am curious on how this new legislation will affect Pfizer and the way we do business. Most importantly is pfizer prepared to make changes to reflect our new operating environment especially in sales and R&D. What are your thoughts?

Our world will change, but it will not be immediate. If you make more than $200,000 your taxes will go up. If you have children with pre-existing conditions - you can get insurance.
Premiums will continue to go up. Most of the "benefits" do not kick in till 2013 - 2014 and beyond.

Short term - Pfizer will have to shell out alot of money to close the donut hole in Medicare. Longer term as health care costs continue to skyrocket - there will be stricter formularies. Plus if the government is paying, they will control drug costs, as we know from the VA and Medicaid, etc. It will be harder to get new drugs approved, unless they are truly break through drugs that will cure Alzheimer's etc.

Overall we will continue the march to a single payer government run system - cradle to grave control - UNLESS people WAKE UP and just say NO.

Step one for the liberals is to take control of health care. Once they dominate and they were almost there already with Medicaid, MediCare Part D, the VA, and Military making up over 50% of total drug purchases. This finalizes it. Then they will impliment a single national formulary. The pay to play with the government will kill R&D. Then they will take over the pharmaceutical industry because it is too big to fail. Their utopia looks like this. The government owns the banks, schools and universities, auto industry, transportation (road to trains and planes), utilities and transmission lines, and finally the choice of food we eat because we can't have people eating poorly and driving up the cost of health care. Welcome to the Great Reservation once known as the United States of America. The problem is who will pay for all of this? Look at what happened in Greece when the government couldn't pay for all of the entitlements. Revolution on the reservation.

I don't buy the piece of this legislation that says, "If you make over $200,000, you will be taxed." EVERY working American will pay for this one way or the other. Lawmakers claim this reform will cost $940 billion over 10 years. Time will tell, but I say bullshit. How often is the gov't accurate on anything? It will be more than double this projection by some analysts. Already cash-straped states are going to increase taxes, fines, etc. (as if the cost of living isn't already out of control). I am not only worried about my future in this industry, but I'm worried about this country. This is a sad day.

Oh, by the way, the mere sight of Nancy Pelosi makes me want to puke in my hand.

This was never about health care. This was always about being on the winning or the losing side. Congress is made up mostly of lawyers who have lived their whole lives supporting lies in order to win their case. Our courts are not about justice but about lawyers who win or those that lose and somewhere the truth is totally insignificant. This health care bill is so full of lies and distortions that even the most die hard liberals have to see it as the fraud that it is.
Does anyone actually believe that this will not force up the cost of premiums. The profit margin on health insurance companies now is around 2%. So now they have to provide insurance to anyone (ANYONE with a pre-existing condition). Most of these were not people who had their insurance cut off because they got cancer. That is one of the big lies to make the insurance companies look like the bad guys. These people were the ones who would rather take the trip to Disney World or buy the new Harley instead of covering their family with health insurance. Then someone got cancer and presto, shit I need insurance.
What the Dems just did was make Vegas a losing proposition for the casinos. Someone now can wait to see the dealers hand and then place their bets. Of course this is going to drive up heath care costs and bingo our premiums. Again the liberals are trying to use government to take care of people who make really bad decisions. No accountability. Just vote for us and we will take care of you. This thing is going to bankrupt us pure and simple.

Greetings and blessings to all sentient beings. Congratulations on being good citizens of a country that has finally joined the family of countries that care about the health of their citizens. For people who want to opt out of health insurance, very stupid by the way, too bad. Just like requiring auto insurance for everyone who owns a car, health insurance is required for everyone who owns a body. One of the reasons health costs have skyrocketed is the high cost of treating uninsured patients. That irresponsibility won't be tolerated. This is a great time to be a citizen of the USA!
