Pathline and Emerge are the same thing!!!
PAthline is their crooked hospital pathology lab.
Are you saying that the hospitals are re-establishing their labs??
Also, how will they compete in Oncology, there are hundreds of Flow Labs, and the rumor is GE is building a huge lab on the east coast for Clarient. In additon Integrated Oncology is "Contracting" with the big national groups.
Look for a Big "For SALE " sign soon.

Re: Path Line
TC Grandfather Clause will expire on June 30, after which point labs will have to bill hospitals instead of medicare. Hospitals will only do business with those labs that they are contracted with. Pathline isn't contracted with any hospitals, so their business will be gone. Sam R is personally going into private oncology clinics ENTICING them to switch over to Emerge to make up for the anticipated loss of business. At the same time he's settling his score with Marc G.

I have not heard of any of their current hospital clients rebuilding their labs. For example they just took over the dump in New Rochelle and that place is 40% Medicaid, 50% Medicare.
Were they such poor business people that they took this place over right when the rumors started about the GFC going bye-bye...??

SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY PLEASE!!
What is really going on here? I heard they are still growing the Hospital Lab side of the business.
Are they leaving the hospital market or not? I am a Medical Technologist in the Hudson Valley and I really do not want to work for them. I am thinking of taking a Job in the D.C. area, but prefer to not move.
Someone Please I beg you tell me the truth.

Re: Path Line
They bought a lab in Cranford, NJ so that they don't have such a large influx of specimens from the suffern site.
They have another lab in Ramsey, NJ right near their Suffern location.
Emerge = Pathline
Newman is a business man, he's gonna do everything he can to take business from anyone. I mean he's sleeping with the brunette transcriptionist over there. He can and is doing what he wants, he owns the damn lab...
Matt the sales rep is excellent as well. All these other labs have to step up their game.
End of the day everyone there is a schemer and they only care about their wallets, not of patient care and their employees. But from what i hear its the same in every other lab as well.

They have three sites? How can they afford that? Also are they still running the labs for the hospitals?

The feds will be revising the PFS for the TC 88300's in 2013...uhh...better be ready for big cut in reimbursement...especially the labs leveraged highly in 88305...better ratchet up the volume...only way to maintain any margin...better diversify...EMR donations going away...ACO's coming online...hospitals buying up practices...TC grandfather gone...reimbursement models changing...oh, my friend...you are delusional if you think the money will continue to freely flow...the Affordable Care act and IOAT of AP by the GI, GU and derms have sealed the deal for the point and click model of reimbursement...

Sam R worked Greenspan meeting for three days and spent a lot of time at GenPath booth. Wonder who's going to jump ship first.

Re: Path Line
Pathline is all over the place in NJ now. They run the lab for the large urology group in Bergen/Passaic/Essex which they took from Plus, who originally set up the group. They just took another group away from QDx Pathology and are now managing their group's lab in Cranford. Now I just heard they are going to start managing a lab for the big urology group out in Morris county who was previously working through Morristown Lab.
What are these guys offering out there to be winning lab management contracts with all these big urology groups???

They get the accounts by promising everything in the world. Their salespeople are professional liars. These guys could not give a crap, they are just looking to pump it up and sell it. I considered referring to them but checked them out and I decided to stay away.

Where do you think they got their marketing/sales model from? Sam R is going after accounts with a vengeance. He said if anyone from GP calls the authorities on his methods, he will tell them where Grodman has all his bodies buried. Word of advice, let it be.

Re: Path Line
Would not be surprised to find out these guys give "inducements" because they are a growing operation with second rate work. There is a rumor that someone contacted the prosecutor who took down BLS about Pathline. Maybe Bioreference getting even. Stay tuned.
BTW rumor is that Pathline's CAP inspection was a disaster.

Does this include Emerge? Are CAP documents regarding this inspection in the public domain?
