Default 2 Weeks Notice?

Does Inventiv require 2 weeks notice when resigning?

No one REQUIRES anything.

It is considered the polite and appropriate it thing to do.

Keep in mind that Inventiv can call you tomorrow to end your contract without 2 weeks additional pay...I guess the real question is, does Inventiv require you to give 2 weeks notice to the contract your on or when you give your notice, you are considered done?

I would not give notice until July 1st. They are not required to pay your quarterly bonus unless you work the entire quarter, just FYI.

If your new job starts tomorrow and you can't give two weeks notice, I can say that it will not effect your eligibility for rehire at inVentiv. You have to really try to get marked ineligible for rehire, and if they do mark you as ineligible, HR sends you a letter telling you that you are ineligible and why. Giving two weeks notice may still work in your favor though, because many contracts will say "thanks for the two weeks notice, but we're pulling you out of the field effective immediately", in which case, you still get paid for the two weeks for your courtesy (plus any remaining vacation time), but do not have to work. NOW, the kicker to that is, that if on June 14th you say 'I'm giving notice until July 1st", they may tell you that you no longer need to work, but they will only give you up to two weeks - so really until the 27th. So in that situation, if you do want to finish out the quarter, I wouldn't give notice until July 19th.
