Default Revenge: How to get someone fired?

"I've always been kind of a pacifist. My father always taoght me to never hit someone in anger... unless you are absolutely sure no one is looking." Harold Ramis in Stripes.

"Revenge is a dish best served cold." - Not sure who said this

Ok, we've all been wronged in this business by someone who has been self serving, back-biting and just a plain asshole. What creative ways have you thought about, whether or not you would actually do it, to exact revenge and get someone jammed up with HR? Curious question isn't it?

You always need a couple witnesses to back up your story. For instance, if your asshole manager is discussing your sexual orientation with other employees and you can get the employees to back up your claim that he made a derrogatory comments or insinuated them or just the fact that he has his nose in your underwear, should be enough to get him.

That's exactly it. I can't even tell you how many times I have dealt with stupid ass managers who just say and do the most GD stupid shit. Honest to God, is there just not a fucking brain in their GD heads. I mean I am talking here of people who have graduate degrees, but don't have enough fucking sense to keep their GD nose out of your undies.

So very true. I had to wear long suit skirts after that particular incident. My DM was a true pantie sniffer.

Trick them into doing something completely ethical. Some sort of situation you can trap them in, where they put the needs of the patient ahead of the business. After that, they should be on their way out in no time!

Look, you don't have to get them fired. You just need them out of your life. I have had 2 people depart from mine by just sending their name and contact information to a few recruiters. They leave and think they are going to be happy, and I actually AM happy. Problem solved.

Call compliance and tell them that John Doe ate an extra dessert at Ruth's Chris. Oh man, shit will hit the fan.

BTW, if you didn't catch the sarcasm in that statement you don't realize how lame this job really is.

That's easy all you need to do is call OEC with one annonymous tip and poof an invetigated is started. Even if it"s hear say they will investigate. This has been ongoing for years in the western region. Next thing you know someone is fired!

you could call HR and file reports, but if they are friends, that is not going to work. Another option is to set up that employee, it is fairly easy. People who take advantage of those who are in need of employment, such as a female working to support her family, then a boss who is harrassing her, but has been there for a long time and am friends with everyone, he needs to be fired and I am sure that you/ the woman were not the only one that this has happened to. Talk to a lawyer, then file a complaint, track down all the other female who have also worked there during the time of the male boss and convince them to say the same thing. Now you have a class action lawsuit, which will pay a good amount. The company will either fire him to make it go away and pay or have a lot of bad publicity and pay.

It ain't easy. I knew several people during my sentence at Abbott who were worthless sub-human amoebas. Two of the them had HR files the size of the Tokyo white pages- primarily from subordinate complaints. The other was a psycho bi-polar VP (by my observation) who supposedly was on the fast track. It took a while but all 3 imploded eventually and quit before they were axed. The VP subsequently moved to Research Triangle whereupon he destroyed a start-up biotech. The bad news is that these LOSERS hung on long enough that I left the company in disgust and they remained. The good news is that I left for a better much opportunity--and these doofuses (doofi?) ended up at the bottom of the employment dumpster. Keep your chin up. If these losers are as bad as you suggest, they'll be found out eventually. BTW, are any of your tormenters grads of Univ of Houston or Miami?

Might be better to keep them on during Field Travel. And don't forget to check under the seat the day before your boss gets in the car.

I don't work here but I caught this headline.

I had an ASSHOLE DM at another company. I quit. I found out that after I was gone for a few years that karma caught up with him and he has been out of work for 3 months and still looking. I don't believe it was a layoff because his position was immediately filled and the company wasn't doing layoffs. This was an SOB that would make anti-semetic remaks (my best friend is a Jew, so yeah I got offended...comments like "Oh his name is Goldberg...you know how those people are." I would say "no I don't tell me..." He would say that other people in the district thought I was weird, that I wasn't smart enough, thatI needed to drink to fit in...

So suck it ex DM, enjoy your long vacation. Prick.

Karma works in a mysterious way. Let karma work its magic and move on with your life.

The difference between a pervert and a normal guy is self control. Check the law in your area concerning taping conversations. In Arizona I can record a conversation as long as one person in the conversation is aware of said recording...Me..I know...not the jerk I helped get rid of. I can't hook it to a telephone or hide it in a private office but I can bug myself. Total cost is about $100 at Radio Shack. I duck taped the mic to the inside of my shirt along the button area and placed the recorder in my pants pocket. Transferred it to a DVD and sent it to my project manager and program manager (I'm a contractor) I could have taken it to a lawyer.

At my company the DM has these clever little nicknames he has for employees who are minority, older, or who he suspects as being gay. He uses them so much that other managers use them too. Any recourse?

Except when it comes to retaliation against reps. Then the unwritten policy is leave them alone for 6 months while quietly setting up and documenting all errors or violations of policy, then fire or PIP.

"revenge is a dish best served cold"..... I thought it was Shakespeare, but that specific quote actually comes from "StarTrek: The Wrath of Kahn". there are earlier quotes that are close, ie, a French novel, translated into English in 1846 as "revenge is very good eaten cold"...

Gosh, don't you love all of us English majors!

Anyway, I have digressed before I have even started, if that is possible.

My point is this: You don't need to get anyone fired. It shows an ugly side of oneself. What you do need to do is to get someone else to hire them, preferably at another company. Call up recruiters and pass his name along when they ask: "Do you know anyone else that might b interested?". Tell other reps you have a great manager that is looking around. Speak very highly of him or her at meetings with other managers. Just get the guy to move along. it will make your day brighter.
If that all fails, then go ahead and give it the final shot: Sleep with them and head directly to myHRTeam with a tape or video.

I let my DM have a taste of my man-gravy one time. Since then, she wants it almost monthly and I really have moved on and I'm in a relationship now I want to keep. But every month-she wants more of my Man-Gravy. What should I do? I've told her I'm done with this - but she's so eager and willing...

give her a parting gift: Cut off your tiny, little shriveled up balls and mail them in a small envelope to her. She would appreciate it, and, since you haven't ever learned to use them, you won't miss them.

I think Glen Close said it in Dangerous Laisons. A John Malcovich movie. I probably spelled all those names wrong. LOL It was a great movie.

Yes either of these could work ... in a normal company.

First, getting them hired by another company: having Abbott of one's resume is a killer ... goes right to the circular file in most cases. Especially for a management position.

Second, sleeping around is not going to get a manager fired at Abbott ... and going to HR will get YOU on a PIP.

In fact sleeping around at Abbott wil most likely get you promoted. We all remember a certain female who used to work here and was promoted higher and higher because of this.
