KCI wins Appeal against SN
Now that the media has released the ruling on the appeal between SN and KCI, wonder what will happen? KCI won the appeal so back to federal court in San Antonio. Our companines in such a mess as it is, so what if we WIN in Fed Court. We will need all those reps back that just got laid off!

We did not appeal, Wake Forrest did. We don't want any part of that because we will have to pay all of the royalites...probably 9-14 months worth by the time this is resolved. It wont stick anyway, Vacuums are not patented, Foam is not patented...you cant put the together to create a patent. It would be like McDonalds taking non-patented bread and non-patented beef and saying we just created a Hamburger that is patented... It was nice while it lasted though.

uuhm.. no.. Wake Forest won the appeal.. KCI shafted Wake Forest out of their licensing fees when the last ruling came out.. this is going to cost KCI many millions to settle..

You are a dope!!!! WF owned the patents, they had to be the ones to appeal. KCI could not appeal as they never sued in the first place. Get a better understanding of business before you make a bigger fool out of yourself. Millions is chump chnage they would be happy to pay to have the patents enforced. Good grief some people are dumb

Noone won anything, the higher court just asked the ruling judge to give more info on his decision. Regardless, KCI and Wake have burned a bridge so the best scenario for Wake Forrest is that the case gets overturned and then since KCI did a breech of contract, they will license the patent to another company. This would eliminate KCI completely so pray this thing goes away.

Re: KCI wins Appeal against SN
Considering that WF stole the concept of NPWT from Chariker and Jetter, WF nor KCI should have any rights to patents. Granted- KCI brought NPWT to the market (and I was one of the pioneer idiots who worked for KCI in the early years- but got out when I could). KCI raked in billions of dollars. The good ol days are over-- and of course, KCI knew that was coming. The goal from the beginning was to sell the company, but Blue Sky put a nail in that coffin early on. Just wait for competitive bidding- NPWT will be whored out as it should be! Maybe even O'Bama care will let the poor pts on Medicaid have NPWT.

I call bollocks!
Revisionist history on a couple points. 1st C&J. Please bro.
No comment. It was a gauze based system. We see where that went.
Secondly, blue sky never had any traction.
Only now are company's starting to get traction because they are offering foam based systems.
You are a dullard!

Re: KCI wins Appeal against SN
Just waiting to see how many tens of millions WFU is going to get for this.
Another KCI example of leadership biting the hands that feeds it.

Yep, never thought of it that way. If this think goes back on the patent Wake is done with us. Hopefully APAX will settle.

Is it so interesting how the competitors have ridden the coat tails of KCI for years and now all the bustle of this appeal? It is well-earned. KCI should still stand proud along side the amazing WFU! I don't have any doubt that KCI is tried and true. Business decisions have to be made for what's best for business...regardless...Any business' bottom-line is simply that-the bottom-line. Whether it is Target, WalMart, or KCI, etc and etc...

Hey dumb ace. Wake Forrest hates us. We gave them the middle finger when we stopped paying royalties. If this thing gets overturned for good, Wake Forrest can choose any company in America to partner with including J&J, Medline, Tyco...anybody!!! It's not KCI's call we screwed them and if we lose we will over a hundred million in royalties. Why the hell would the want to partner again with a company that has 1/3 the sales force, almost no clinicians, and no momentum...none. That was the stupidest post I have seen on here and why we are in such a crappy situation...KCI should be proud to stand by the amazing WFU...identify your self right now so you can be fired for being completely stupid
