Base salary $35k?

I was contacted by a recruiter/manager for Hawthorn and the told me the base was $35k. I literally laughed! He said well, then if base is what you are looking for, we aren't interested in you. I explained it isn't that I am against working hard, but think about it. Why would I go from a base of $52 to a base of $35. That is just plain ignorant!

Do any of you actually work for this base? I guess if it is your foot in the door of pharma, that is OK but otherwise, you can do better.

I left Hawthorn for $20K more in base, brand new company car and better medical benefits and better bonus structure.

I left also am so much happier with a better company. I actually spend my time selling instead of putting out all the little fires. Hawthorn has no direction, no plan. That scared me into leaving and I sure am glad I did. They will keep dangling a carrot in front of the reps, but nothing ever materializes. They will lie to you and cheat you only as long as you let them. Max only cares about Max!
