CLFS 2018 looking like 5% to 8% reductions in 2018. Managed Care more headwinds in front of us. UHC contract impact with continued volume loss looks like an exciting year ahead!!!!!

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb) – The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has proposed 2018 reimbursement rates for clinical laboratory tests under the Protecting Access to Medicare Act.

After an initial review of the draft rates, the American Clinical Laboratory Association said the prices were not market-based, which was the intent of PAMA.

"If finalized, these rates will inflict severe cuts — well beyond those ever envisioned by Congress — and ACLA believes the impact will be unprecedented and far reaching," ACLA President Julie Khani said in a statement. "These rates will devastate many of our members and create severe disruptions in access to laboratory services, particularly for the most vulnerable Medicare beneficiaries."
