If you don’t like it then leave!!! It’s a privilege to work here!

Agree with the leave portion of this statement... Not sure it's a privilege to work here anymore. I left when comms were cut below 10% and have not looked back.

    Privilege to work here ?
Reps are known , not the implant company

The effective commission rate is somewhere between 4.5-5%. This is after arbitrary service fees are deducted from your paycheck.

    Ok, turbo.

tenured reps…you know….the people that are actual earners and not 20-something box openers, understand that this is a sales-driven industry, and they look at the comp rates between different orgs, and are planning jumps, following the MPS integration and competitive tech catching up with mako.

stryker needs to remember that it is their senior sales force that drives robot placements and competitive conversions as much as it is the tech.

6% won’t work when SN is paying 10 with a sellable machine that’s only a few years away from being a real competitor in the value-prop oriented ASC space.

but you keep going where your senior rep tells you to go and don’t forget to do your re-stocks.

Piddly little service fees shouldn’t be chopping 1.5% off of your monthly revenues. Grow your business.

So, doing the quick math, 6% on a 3,000,000 dollar territory would only yield a rep 180k a year? What a joke. No thanks!

I can think of a lot easier ways to make 180k

Especially when you have MPS reps with less than 5yrs in the game making 130k for doing nothing more than pushing a robot in and out of a room and only working 3-4 days a week….with zero sales responsibility.

6% minus a flat % rate for case coverage (whether utilized or not) and a 1/2022 MPS fee.

    Socialism for the sales force….

    Capitalism for the execs…

No, this is no longer true, and it's questionable if it ever was. Its the typical grift by sales reps to make everyone think the reps are an invaluable part of business narrative. The commission rates have been cut it seems like every year and the company is till doing fine. Now the money that used to only be able to made in the field can be made in house, while the reps are being taken down a few notches where they belong. As others have said, if you dont like it leave, no one cares. The day of the six figure SR is long gone, and it ain't coming back.

MPS doesn’t make anywhere near 130k. They start out around 60, go up to 90 for the seniors. The launch specialists might clear 6 figures, but they are on the capital side anyway so doesn’t matter.

MPS make jack. They don't sniff 6 figures.

I always heard Stryker was the best place to be a sales rep?! I would imagine this was posted by a middle manager or marketing person at corporate? It doesn’t sound like a great culture for sales.

A $3M territory will require a junior associate who will be subsidized at 20%. Then another 12K will be subtracted to help pay for coverage. The more senior guy working this territory for 8-10 years will end up making a base commission of around 130K. Maybe 180K total if he hits his quota for the year.

Basically looking at a 4% commission rate. Great job if you don’t mind working long days and weekends. But if you are the junior rep with 2 years under your belt making 60K just know that your income potential will be more limited at Stryker than with other medical device companies who offer 8-10% rates.

Says the middle managing former Stryker instruments rep who made that piddly little 50K by sitting at home until 10 everyday looking at mako sawblade reorders. The guy who grew his business 3 out of the 4 years he was a sales rep before getting into a management role for a better work life balance.

115-130 is what they’ve been pushing throughout this integration.

Can you grow your business faster than the company can take it away from you? Via territory splits and commission deductions?
