A big no to Murdo

BMS employee who has watched this guy for years here. Not a troll, I can tell you a few things this guy did over the last 10 years. In the neuroscience and cardiovascular divisions 10-12 years ago he was VP of sales in each and his big claim to fame that pissed everyone off was that he mandated mandatory call notes to be entered in the system after every sales call. This caused a tremendous amount of chaos because we all know how the call thing goes, and management started running reports on quantity and quality of call notes. It was absolutely horrible. If you spoke out against the call notes you were punished. So everybody just put false crap in the system that wasn’t real, and it went on for years. Thanks Murdo.

Also, Every division that he touched saw a layoff within 12 to 24 months of his arrival. He completely embraces the Jack Welsh remove your bottom 10% every year or two paradigm. Furthermore, he creates a clique of yes men and women who he protects independent of any actual accountability for their performance which causes horrible leadership to continue getting promoted and moving into other divisions etc...

He is a horrendous leader and good riddance. Also, just when competition got more formidable at BMS, he leaves. That should tell you everything. Enjoy Murdo, Amgen.

SOOOO True.Bottom 10% saw the door or were put on a very hot seat by people that sometimes didn't fully take into account the total picture which is needed at Amgen given the sales discrepancies.Tag line to managers was would you hire everyone on your team?
