so moving all your shared services to Tampa ..... which is know to have hurricanes annually who's great idea was that? Say hello to Irma
That is the least of the stupidity involved with the ACC decision. EVERY SINGLE PERSON outside of Amgen, be they vendor, client, or non-affiliated, I have told about the ACC has had the same reaction: WTF is Amgen thinking? This is an incredibly stupid idea.
It was the brilliant consulting idea of PWC, who has also recommended this crackhead idea to other companies. Here is an idea, wouldn't it be better to have this in a disaster free location, like Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, etc.... On top of that the inbreeding in Tampa really doesn't help with finding smart talent.
Actually Tampa was a great pick. We have only had 2 Hurricanes come near the facility in @100 years. We do not have an income tax and the sales tax is @7 %. The available workforce is fairly vibrant and educated. Between MacDill AFB, USF, ISC2 (Clearwater), Moffitt, HCC, and the great family environment we are set to lead in the IT and medical realm into the next century. I am not a Amgen employee - just a Tampa fan and a CISSP with 30 years in the military who worked for the NSA and an not inbred to a very great degree.
