InnoPharma Approved for Generic Acetadote

InnoPharma announced FDA approval of its Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) for Acetylcysteine Injection, the generic version of Cumberland's Acetadote.

Acetadote Injection is administered intravenously within 8–10 hours after ingestion of a potentially hepatotoxic quantity of acetaminophen to prevent or minimize hepatic injury. It is thought to protect the liver by maintaining or restoring the glutathione levels, or by acting as an alternate substrate for conjugation with, and thus detoxification of, the reactive metabolite.

Acetylcysteine Injection will be available as a 20% solution (200mg/mL) in 30mL single-dose glass vials. Acetylcysteine Injection is sterile and can be used for IV administration.

Agreed. AJK won't pull the trigger and get a deal done to bring in additional products that will diversify the portfolio. Acetadote is a has-been drug now that generics are out, and Caldolor was a flop before it hit the market. Leadership is blind to how the healthcare market works, yet they want to tout their experience? Look at AJK's experience with other public companies-------nice job AJK.

Easy answer. AJK has everyone terrified, to Act, Speak, or even Think. MP is saying "UH" every other word. JH is keeping his head down and hoping no one realizes he is incompetent. BL is sweating. JM is trying to keep everyone happy despite all of the above. So.......same as normal.

 

On September 30, 2013, the United States District Court for the District of Columbia filed an opinion under seal granting a Summary Judgment in favor of the FDA regarding Cumberland's November 12, 2012 suit. The Company is considering its legal options and intends to continue to vigorously defend and protect its Acetadote product and related intellectual property rights.
