You mean, when are they going to change it to the new Actavis Logo. Watson is going to assume the Actavis name because of trademark issues in Europe and China with the name Watson. Watson feels the name is so common it's better to call us Actavis.

As far as the logo on the Elizabeth, New Jersey building, it won't matter. The Elizabeth plant is scheduled to be closed down. They are going to start to tech transfer products to other facilities later this year.

Another nail in the coffin of the Elizabeth, New Jersey facility. Actavis is getting $2,814,500 from Florida for moving 220 jobs to the Davie Florida plant. That's $12,793 per job!! Does Actavis really need a tax subsidy to move jobs? It's criminal that a multi-billion dollar company will take tax payer dollars to move jobs from one state to another. Also, our politicians are stupid enough to give it to them. Looks like New Jersey and California didn't cough up enough tax subsidies. I guess Chris Christie didn't genuflect before Paul Bisaro and provide enough tribute to keep the jobs in New Jersey. Been at the plant a long time, but my CV is out the door. Hopefully something comes along before the hammer falls.

The company will invest about $40.5 million at the Davie site. Construction is slated to begin in the third quarter of 2013, with completion anticipated in one year. Once the facility is complete, then tech transfer of product will begin from Elizabeth to Florida. See news articles below.

Actavis adding 220 pharmaceutical jobs in Davie with incentives award - South Florida Business Journal

Actavis has announced plans to add 220 jobs and expand its pharmaceutical manufacturing plant in Davie, after qualifying for $2.81 million in state and local incentives.
The New Jersey-based company (NYSE: ACT), formerly known as Watson Pharmaceuticals, entered Broward County in 2006 when it acquired generic drug maker Andrx. Now, it has pledged to invest $40.5 million to expand its Davie facility by 30,000 square feet, including 16,700 square feet for pharmaceutical manufacturing and 13,000 square feet for warehouse. Construction should start in the third quarter.

Actavis is located at 4955 Orange Drive, just off Florida's Turnpike. The company also has operations in Sunrise and Weston. It has 1,400 employees in Florida.

"We are honored to have the support of the leaders of [the] Town of Davie, Enterprise Florida and Gov. Rick Scott as we continue to expand our presence in Florida," Actavis President and CEO Paul Bisaro said in a news release. "Actavis is proud to support Florida and [the] Town of Davie economy with skilled, pharmaceutical industry jobs, and we are committed to [the] expansion of employment opportunities in the region.”

As for the Actavis' incentive package, $690,000 will come from the state upon closing of the deal and Davie would provide $440,000 should the company meet its job goals. The company would also receive $1.1 million from the Qualified Target Industries program (80 percent from the state and 20 percent from Davie) after it creates those jobs and maintains them for a handful of years. In addition, Actavis would receive $584,500 to help with worker training.

Actavis is the fourth-largest drug maker in the U.S. with $5.9 billion in revenue in 2012, when it earned $97 million.

"Actavis is one of Broward County’s leading employers and their expansion is a great indicator that our efforts to grow the important and strong South Florida life-sciences cluster continues to pay off," said Bob Swindell, president and CEO of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance, which helped the company make its decision.
Broward has been a hotbed for pharmaceutical expansion lately, with recent incentive awards offered to Apotex in Coral Springs and a confidential Venezuelan firm that could move to Tamarac.
