I agree with most of what you said. Like you, I was there. I was in the auditorium when Ingram said he doesn't feel guilty of laying people off etc etc. I do think Pyott worked hard to keep AGN independent but at the end of the day, he stood to make alot of money with the sale. Ingram is a different case. Many saw through this guy. I used to hear him talk in the gym locker room and he was stuck on himself and a phony! Senior leadership is to blame cause they were the ones who made the rules. No body else! I worked there 27 plus years. Loved my job and the people I worked with. How that can be taken from someone is a shame. I try not to be bitter but seeing how AGN is so poorly run now by Saunders and company makes me want to puke. The Allergan I know will never exist again. The new AGN will only exist for a short time since Saunders will need to sell it in order to bring shareholder value. He doesn't really know how to sustain excellence as it were!

Yep!!! Once one or two of the "stars" gets approved or positive ph3 data we will look prettier than now and I'm sure we will get sold. If that happens I get a year severance so I'm cool with that! AGN is a much different company now than when I started, no more visions of spending an entire career here. Oh well, Ceis la vie!

B. Valeant and Ackman launched an unprecedented hostile. The evidence is absolutely clear that if the company fell into their arms, it would have destroyed all of the company's value in a matter of one or two years and the lay offs you see now would be paltry compared to what would have happened.
C. I was there. Pyott and Ingram absolutely did not want to sell the company. They and many others fought like mad to keep the company independent. But it wasn't ultimately possible. Stand ignorantly on the sidelines and blame every senior person if you would like. But you are dead wrong.
D. Don't blame legacy Allergan and the team that built that brilliant company for the operational failures of this new team and new model.
E. I miss what this company used to mean to customers and to employees. Unlike you, most employees got up every day excited to work for Allergan.

If you think AGN was run so well under Pyott, go back and look at the financial statements from say 2006-2014 and then ask yourself if they ran the company well in a ZIRP enviornment.

And then ask yourself...why was the CFO the first to go...prior to Endurance.

There are a lot of us out here who agree with this post, two years after being laid off I still miss my old job, which I absolutely loved. Now on to a smaller company which is a cluster fuck and very poorly managed makes me appreciate what I had for 16 years at Allergan.

Let's hear your take on why you think my comment was stupid. Address the relevant points if you can.

It looks to me as if DP either didn't know dick about corporate finance or didn't care enough to keep an eye on things and was too hands off with JE. Oooops...JE fucked up and got canned...but this happened on DP and DI's watch and they were ultimately responsible...so they fucked up as well.

Therefore, even though the company was running smoothly day to day, by allowing the CFO to fuck up so bad means they didn't do their job well, either by complacency or incompetence. But...they got paid!

You can go on line and find what appears to be interesting dialog during the entire takeover time and why Edwards hit the road! Pyott as I was told could be a SOB to deal with if you didn't belong to the "Yes Sir" environment. He was however, exceptionally good at leading AGN. I dont think Edwards dropped the ball nor was incompetent. Once you read whats available online, you gain some insight as to the inner workings of fending off Valeant and how that ate away at certain higher ups. The entire picture becomes alot more clear.
