Will SS bend over and take it from RW?

This was inevitable with IT moving to lower cost locations like Prague and India; Basel is expensive to hire and live in.

Tough to see old colleagues forced out

With 2020 looking to end on a low note for the US economy (biggest consumer of Novartis products globally), 2021 would be a tough year to be looking for a new job after a 4Q 2020 layoff.

Former colleagues in Basel have received the list of who's being spared through 2020; so at least they have one year to find the next job ... unfortunately, that next job might be in Prague or India

Unlikely; new contractors and FTEs alike are being hired in Prague & India to replace laid-off BaselITes

Slim chance of that happening; contractors will be hired in Prague & India at a much lower cost

NBS IT is dead man walking:

Bringing together deep bioscience and AI to help patients worldwide: Novartis and Microsoft work to reinvent treatment discovery and development - The Official Microsoft Blog

There's no need for a Novartis-branded IT shop, when the big tech companies like MSFT and the like can offer services and solutions Vas wants for his data science company.

They refuse to say how many jobs are cut in Switzerland! Shame! A Swiss company?? What those people will tell to their families before X-mass??

did they ever give a clear impact count for NBS IT at the beginning of the first waves? i remember only the up to 700 NBS positions overall....

the count would be nice to know, but the trend has been clear: there will be as few positions as possibly allowed in high-cost countries.
